Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Doesn't four options for one place seem a little excessive to you? Plenty of other gaps people want to fill without committing so much resource into one pot.
Yeah, there's no way a club at our level has 4 genuine out and out options for 1, maximum 2 positions (if we change the system to play two up top).

I'm *slightly* puzzled by letting Fabio go as, until we sign someone, we have just one player in Raul. It's a good move if he can develop and get some regular minutes/goals under his belt - but from a Wolves point of view, there's 5 x available subs this season and we seem to be cutting numbers left, right & centre. With the new sub rule I could have seen Fabio getting quite a few more opportunities this season.

30+ sub appearances do not really help him. We need him to kick on and become the player Jeff has told us he is (or just half of that player will do). So if he goes off and starts a huge % of games, brilliant.

Obviously we need to replace him but loaning him out does make sense for all parties.

They are never going to sell Raul especially for around £10m.

If you think they signed Hwang for reasons other than football than Jimenez is probably even more valuable in that respect (in their minds) plus if there is a chance that he could get back to even near what he was before, he guarantees you 12+ league goals a season and to a team outside the big 6 that is like gold dust, so you can't take the gamble of selling him at such a small fee.

City went all last season arguably without a single centre forward option. Liverpool only had two, maybe three actually, but frequently played without them towards the end of the season. Arsenal just the one really, Nketiah doesn't count surely? Tottenham maybe 1.5, Son is an option there but not ideal. Chelsea one really, didn't use him and now ditching him, Werner barely plays central for them anymore.

But yeah, Wolves will have 4 or 5 options there. Be realistic.

Guaranteed: achieved it twice in 8 seasons.

Well he achieved it in the 2 seasons where he started enough games for it to be a fair test. I don't think he started that much for Benfica or Atletico, I remember hearing that a lot of his appearances were from the bench.

In all competitions in the 2 seasons mentioned he got 17 and 27. Then before his injury in the third season, he was on 4 goals from 10 games so easily on track for 12 across the season. That's playing in a team that's never been the most creative. Don't really think what I've said is a stretch tbh.

So hang on. Wolves fans make up their own cryptic theory then get miffed when it doesn't happen. Classic.

New kit launch does not mean new player or indeed any other news FFS.

I feel more silly then angry..

But I do believe its a prank to wind up the Twitter people.. Naughty for me.

So if Fabio goes out on loan does that mean Jeff's ego has allowed him to admit he's made a mistake?

It's been two seasons since he put in those sort of numbers, granted there have been some difficult circumstances for him but at the point where his current lull is as along as his previous peak you've got to question if it'll happen again.

Two seasons isn't the biggest data set really.

Peak Marco van Basten wouldn't score many with how we played last season, we were dreadful in an attacking sense on every level.

Plenty of life left in Raul, he was outstanding at Anfield in literally the last game we played.

Agreed 100%. You can't ask the bloke to get the ball himself from midfield and beat the whole defence and score. He needs service. Also need a rotation option to help him too.

Nope. Mistake admitting would be selling.

Loan with no option to sign is Jeff admitting the lad needs to go and play games rather than sit on our bench for another season

Trincao looked good in a few games too.

I think you misread my post. I agree with you.
