Relegation run in 22/23 ** Now a Wolves free zone**

Midweek and the weekend:

Arsenal vs Everton
Liverpool vs Wolves
------------------------
Arsenal vs Bournemouth
Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace
Brighton vs West Ham
Chelsea vs Leeds
Wolves vs Tottenham
Southampton vs Leicester
Nottm Forest vs Everton

Everton's away record is appalling, 3 wins going back to the start of LAST season. Scored 1 goal in their last 7 aways (away at City where they somehow got a point under Lampard! That's their only away point in that run, unsurprisingly).

Looks a bit sticky for them if they lose both those above fixtures, you can't rely on winning 1-0 at home off a set piece for any length of time.

Fabianski out for a while with a broken cheekbone and eye socket.

Bit of a fucker for West Ham is that

I don’t think he’s been great for a while and Areola is decent so I imagine they’ll be fine

Unfortunately Leeds are looking a lot better under Gracia, much more composed😠

If Leicester lost Maddison for the season they could genuinely go. Most one man team I’ve seen for a while, they turn to absolute shit when he’s not there

They can't score and can't defend. If we finish below them then we deserve to go down.

Rutter is an atrocious signing in their position.

Let's hope they carry on for at least a few more weeks, I'm still hopeful they'll get relegated.

Danny Murphy fully retracted his prediction for us to go down this morning saying it was 'stupid' and that he only said it as he had been put on the spot and couldn't think who else. Doesn't explain his prediction of Everton getting out of trouble as Frank would 'find a way' other than they are long time friends

Predicting us going down wasn’t the issue it was his reasoning for it that was the problem. Predicting us to go down was by no means an outrageous shout at all.

We are probably going to be ok as there’s enough bad teams.

But we’ve ended up in a situation where we have a reasonable enough back 4 and GK, 6 DMs and then very little else. To the point where we are playing 4 DMs in games.

Neto’s probably 3 or 4 weeks from being full tilt, Cunha needs to come back in and offer something tangible and then where else are we getting something from someone?

Podence and his stinking attitude can fuck off the arrogant, useless twat and Adama is a waste of time. Then Raul and Costa finished.

How have we spent this much money and still need 4 players.

We're in a position where the back two-thirds of the team look solid-to-great- no real concerns for me there.

The issue is that we're a lumpen, Frankenstein's Monster of a team up top, and that throws the team completely off-balance. None of our forward players seem to know how to play with each other, everyone's styles completely clash, half of them palpably can't be arsed, it's just a mess. There's a very good case to be made for clearing out the whole lot (with stays of execution for Neto, Sasa and the newbies) and completely rebuilding up top in the summer.

Certainly it's long past time that we booted Adama and Podence out of the door.

Now, there are at least three teams in the league which are disasters, front to back, so I'm not hugely biting my nails about being dragged down, but Lopetegui's job is to drag the team over the line come May, and to slash and burn after that.

I know we sort of occasionally say we might offer Adama a new deal, but I seriously doubt we will. Not in any serious way at any rate. We might say you can stay for a year on your existing wage (which of course thanks to Great British Inflation, is worth a lot less than when he signed that contract in 2018). Some idiot will pay him more elsewhere and get all the "thrills" we get out of him. Enjoy.

Podence struggles to stay fit, can't put a run of performances together and doesn't seem to be much of a Lopetegui favourite. One year left on his contract. I think he'll go for any eight figure bid from anyone.

Costa 100% won't be here and if we can find a North American team who are willing to pay Raul (again, one year left) enough to persuade him to go, then it'll be curtains for him too, with the heartiest of thanks for all the good times.

I don't think Hwang will find a taker, I also don't think he'll play much if/when he stays.

Chiquinho back in the mix next season and Julen will have a decision to make on Fabio, which to me should extend to keep or sell. Not another loan or loans.
