Relegation 24/25 Thread

I don't think they'll throw money at anything, especially if O'Neil is still here. They'll buy a CB but only if Sá goes for a decent amount and they could easily sell someone like Cunha or João Gomes as well. I'd also expect them to offload Sarabia and/or Hwang if O'Neil continues not to use them.

They will know that relegation is a possibility (even an inevitability) with the way they've been operating and they won't be as afraid of it as they were a few years ago after seeing some of the fees teams like Burnley, Leicester and Leeds have brought in for some of their players.
Losing your big cash cow with no guarantee of getting it back soon will surely have them very twitchy. Their whole business model for us if they’ve got one probably only works if we’re in the PL.

It's obviously preferable to them for us to be in the Premier League but it isn't the be all and end all or they wouldn't be managing us in a way that almost guarantees relegation. Every year that we survive is a bonus for them but they're not going to break the bank to prevent relegation.

I don’t think they realise how hard it is to get out the championship, last time we were there we got promoted easily due to Jorge doing us favours with Neves et al, and Fosun falling lucky with a manager, won’t happen this time

I don't think they care to be honest. They'll give it a half arsed effort while we still have parachute payments coming in and a few good young players hanging around but if we don't go up they'll just kill all costs and run us as a ghost club like Swansea.

"If you only want consistent a Premier League football, Wolves might not be the ideal club for you"

I find all the Opta and "Supercomputer" predictions to almost uniformly be best taken with a pinch of salt. But it's a lifejacket as the ship is going down so I will take it.

I’d snap your hand off for that scenario right now. Nevertheless it would just probably be delaying the inevitable unless the close shave kicks Jeff in to action.

Yep, I'd take that now. I'm normally an optimistic fan but right now, I can't see anything other than relegation.

It would be interesting to see historically how correct these predictions end up being.

“Like all of us, Gary is obviously disappointed with the results and expects more.
“Sometimes as a head coach you can look at other clubs, like down the road at Villa and what they’ve spent, but he understands what we’re trying to do.
“He is so aligned to Jeff and I, and what our plan is. I’ve been really impressed with his work ethic and his humility.
“The whole football club has to find ways of supporting Gary and his staff, to find that extra 15 per cent they’re looking for.
“There’s been individual mistakes and some stuff we would change, but we’ve played all the big teams and not been tactically outplayed.”

What the actual fuck is this rubbish? He's a fucking idiot if he thinks we haven't been tactically outplayed by Chelsea or Villa. Hobbs isn't coming across well at all this season. Too much back slapping and he thinks everything is going to plan. Twat.

It's not a time to be over-optimistic or negative. It’s a normal time, like in any season, and from our point of view this is all going to plan and we must not deviate.”

I despise this cunt with the hatred Booz has for Oasis.

Lots of corporate boardroom stuff from Jeff which frankly means nothing .
Fans shouldn’t swallow this, they never use to and shouldn’t now. Jeff talks a lot but doesn’t actually say much that worth listening to.

Put Jeff in a room with that pair of throbbing stiffies and I’d struggle to decide which one to pull out in the event of a fire at the moment.

Some really disturbing stuff there.
They're more bothered about Gary's attitude than ability. Gary is fully aligned with Shi and Hobbs.
So basically they want a yes man in charge and they've got one.
They were happy to go with 4 CBs cos we're playing 4 atb. No thought of tweaking tactics or injury/suspension, leaving aside one of our CBs is also LB cover.
We were never in any danger with FFP (think we all knew that anyway) so it's a plan to not spend any money, we'll see how thay pans out when we're deep(er) in the shit.

Well if we stay in trouble by January - and I would be incredibly surprised if we're not - they're going to have to act otherwise their asset loses millions off its value.

And either this circle of panic spending to maintain PL survival every few years continues, or our luck runs out and we go down because they acted too late and they didn't react to their own negligence quickly enough.

Only taking any kind of positive action when it looks like we're in the shit is no way to run a Premier League football club.

Obviously they mean four senior CBs which a couple of youngsters backing them up. Which is fine until you need to switch to three at the back and have injuries/suspensions to contend with.
