Agree, but then we need more options

---------------- Ruddy/Burgoyne ------------------

Iorfa -------- Williamson --- Hause -------- CBJ

------------------ Price ----- Saiss -----------------

Costa ------------ Weimann ---------- Gibbs-White

------------------- Dicko/Bod ----------------------

There, I've moved away from all the players I've listed and selected a balanced Wolves team. Can I have the managers job please

As long as you have dropped ikeme im fine

Dont know how good gibbs-white is though i might say, ready for chumps?

Dicko over Bod any day if you leave Dangerous out;)

Like i said play evans instead then and maybe we will win 10 straight games.. No Dan, never want us to lose but the hate is a little unfair to me..

It isn't as binary as Edwards or Evans though?

The fact is, Edwards is a luxury of sorts because if he isn't scoring a header and arriving late like Lampard himself he offers very little. He's never split a defence open with a through ball, dominated an opponent or broken up play with any great conviction so if he isn't scoring he isn't contributing.

If he scored 15+ a season from midfield he'd be worth his weight but his Wolves record is 43 goals in 290 appearances, it equals out to a goal ratio of nearly 1:7

Remove the year in L1 it's nearly 1:8

I know, football is about scoring and winning games though, which mids have better records?

Of the usual suspects it's Edwards but that's a damning indictment of the rest of them.

Edwards may score on Saturday but of the two outcomes it's not inconceivable he won't score again until September. We can't keep playing him in blind faith that he'd eventually come good because his position is that vital. The AM should be able to link the play and unlock defences for those in front of him as well as chip in with goals, by getting neither Edwards is essentially constricting the limited creativity of the rest of the team. By having that AM on the prowl it prevents sides from doubling or tripling up on Costa and he begins looking better too.

I'd give Bright a go there. You could fire him up by saying with Ronan out of the picture your opportunity is now to really grab this by the bollocks. Or, like others have suggested, give Herc a go but I suspect if we get dragged down any further we'll stick to the goon squad for the 'battle' and surrender all sense of creativity altogether.

Agree with you, a true nr 10 need to have a lot of things in his locker.. (I dont think Dave is a 10 btw) Bright I like but think he is just short this year to get a run.. Herc, never seen him tbf

N'Golo Kante goals - 1
Cesc Fabregas goals - 5
Nemanja Matic goals - 0

I'd take all of them instead of Dave fucking Edwards.

Herc typically plays deeper, I wouldn't say he's a #10 as such.

Fred, you can't just play midfielders who score occasionally and hope that'll pull you through. If we ever sent out a midfield of something like Edwards-Guedioura-Cameron-Olofinjana then the end result would not be good. Either for our league position or my blood pressure.

Me too.. But we dont have those players?

I'd be happy to see Weimann moved to the central AM role as he is NOT a left winger and put one of the "kids" out there

Football is about scoring goals and winning games i agree Fred and yes Edwards does go through spells of scoring like DW has said but he's not scoring regularly anymore and if he doesn't do that then he genuinely is a waste of a shirt especially in games where the opposition let us have the ball. I mentioned the other day that he has made 24 successful passes in the last 2 league games and at least 2 of those were kick offs. That is never good enough for a centre midfielder and i would be of the opinion that put another midfielder in there who can control the football and influences the game for more than one header a game and we wouldn't need Dave's goals at all as we would create chances for others and maybe even our strikers rather than them feeding on scraps. He's not the only one but he's been here much longer than the others so that's why he probably gets mentioned more than some others.

What's weird is that he had a spell in December where he was winning the ball quite a bit. He'd never done that before and now he's stopped again. Not sure what happened.
