Tough half, not that I think we’ve been that bad, just let down by the front three being as useless at retaining the ball as they have.

Shape is quite good, only lets us down when the centre midfielders get caught ahead of the ball.

I like Agbadou defensively.

Fortunate to go in only 1-0 down. Hope we can get some minutes out of Cunha without risking him too much. It's our best hope. What's new.

H/T and the Geordies probably deserve it. We started well and pushed them back but they slowly got a grip and the inevitable happened because of quite possibly the shittiest player to ever pull on an Old Gold shirt failing to play a simple 5 yard pass well. Please Jesse Marsch convince some fucker to take him off our hands.

As for the rest, bit of a mixed bag. But let's keep it tight until the 60th minute and then ring the changes with Cunha coming on.

Would be slightly tempted to go to a back four to provide an extra man in midfield. Would hopefully stop the front three having to be so reliant on longer balls for service but not sure I'd back the players available to make the backline trustworthy.

Largely been ok defensively, but man we've not even been 2nd to every loose ball, and lost most 50/50 challenges in midfield, apart from Andre. The front 3 have been appalling and that's yet another gilt edged chance JSL has missed in the last couple of games. Best of a mediocre bunch have been Doc, Agbadou, and Sa. Rest have been at best meh, at worst shit.

Yeah I think that’s your issue. Maybe with Agbadou we have a better chance, put semedo on at right back too.

I think we need the inside forwards to be narrower and better at retaining the ball. So Cunha would have made a big difference to playing past the press and then suddenly we feel a bit less under the cosh I think.

The lineup are like 7-3, and are lossing 1-0.

Too much defensive lineup, ur MFs dont win the other MFs.

I take off Hawk for other MF, you guys need push up play whit mfs and stop try long balls.
We're basically 3-4-3 with two wide midfielders. Outnumbered in middle of midfield. Ball not sticking with front 3 as they're low quality.

Been watching in the pub so not as close as I'd like. Seems like we've played pretty decent and more than competed.

Unbelievable how many lucky bounces/deflection they had on their goal. But where the hell was the LWB in that attack? Their winger had 30 yards to run into.

we need to find a way to stay in it and bring Cunha on for the last 25 minutes. That may well require a change at ht because Hwang is clearly not interested in making himself available for the ball, Guedes is more interested in throwing himself around and nothing is sticking with Larson. We are effectively playing with 8 men, that's how inefftive the front three have been.
