Millwall 2 - 2 Wolves: The Verdict Thread

They should force them to play a game behind closed doors. The FA don't have the balls for that though.

Seems strange as that's not an incredibly rare thing in places like Italy.

Racism at football is much more commonplace in Italy than in England/Wales though tbf.

True, I just meant that it seems strange to me that the English FA would be scared to implement that punishment when they could reasonably point to the Italian FA as setting a precedent.

Yeah i can't see the FA doing a lot about it, there's not massive amounts of evidence even though it did happen. The thing is though is it will happen again because nothing will be done and Millwall fans are just letting it happen by claiming it's because it's Millwall. Looking at comments from Derby fans Millwall also sang about Derby fans burning little kids. Classy bunch. I'd never been to the Den before this game and if you take the chants away it's actually a great away game because it has that real football feel about it and we knew that Wolves were in for a game and we got one but if everything goes to plan then we won't ever have to play there again, in the league anyway and in one way that's a shame but in another i'd rather not go back.

A few Wolves fans have sung Philpott "what's it like to burn your kids" chants at Derby before, although thankfully it's never really caught on

Just be because it’s not in the public domain on the internet it doesn’t mean evidence hasn’t been gathered from other sources. I’d say statements from Wolves personnel at the game would hopefully be sufficient.

If people could hear it on the live stream for (ahem) overseas viewers, then I imagine there is sufficient evidence. The youtube video which clearly demonstrated the chant aimed at N'Diaye was taken down but I hope somewhere someone has submitted that as evidence too.

I don't have faith in them to be honest to do anything. I hope you're right though as it was clear for us Wolves fans there hence the dirty racist bastards chant back at them.

Isn't the head of the FA or EFL a Wolves fan? Throw the book at em!

I didn't hear it on the live stream but the volume typically is pretty quiet. I don't doubt it happened and if they are guilty of multiple offenses then they should be hit hard for it. We all know they are a nasty bunch the best way to combat it is restricted fan access and docked points, which will encourage their fans to speak out when people are behaving badly.

They do have the authority and determination to punish clubs guilty of failing to control supporters, and have done so before, but forcing a team to play behind closed doors is a last resort, and would be challenged by any club involved. Plus of course, Millwall Football Club have yet to be found to be in breach of FA rules and regulations.

I noticed on the live stream that once our fans started singing loudly the volume got turned down.

The chicken chant is clearly audible in the 86th minute of play as offered by Wolves TV.
