That still is the ball coming into him. I'm pretty sure then next still will have it coming off the front of the foot.

If I was an Everton fan, Id be now sick of Dyche's aggression half hearted five second clap to the main stand and then fucking off.

VAR uses the the frame that shows the first point of contact of the passing act, not the one where it leaves the boot.

(Also, fuck VAR)

Which it shouldn’t do as the pass isn’t actually being made until the ball leaves the foot. Fancy VAR getting something fundamentally wrong. I am shocked.

The law is first contact with the ball, not when it leaves the boot.

Hence this loophole (unworkable in reality) that a Swedish team came up with.

certainly wouldn’t apply in this case, but if the player making the pass is ahead of the player receiving it you can’t be offside.

Of course but the ball doesn’t need to go forwards for it to be offside.

I guess so. But what linesman is going to flag for that if the ball is going nowhere near?

In the Arsenal instance it should be a goal shouldn’t it. Only time the ball goes backwards and it could be offside would be pull backs from well in the final third.

I'm sure Neto was given off for this reason when he took a corner and received the ball from Jonny (?).

Chalked off a goal against Liverpool by the length of a blurry stud iirc.

Yep Liverpool was a Neto goal, with a Jonny offside. Leicester the one where he received the ball back after taking the corner
That Liverpool game we also had Mane's goal where it seemed like Taylor blew the whistle before he scored.

We've had a few controversial (damn right bullshit) decisions against Liverpool.

The 2 in that game
The nonsense offside goal that Salah scored from Toti's clearance.
Toti's disallowed goal despite no cameras to prove it.

Any more?

Bringing Matt Doherty on as a right winger

Didn't van Dijk handle the ball for their goal in the same game where Neto had a goal disallowed? Again it seemed like they had some uncertain angles.

If I remember right Mane was also offside for his second goal at Anfield 18/19 too.

Edit: Final day 21/22 Toti was fouled when it was 1-1 but no penalty given too.

No Big Willy in the forest squad tonight but sky talking up MGW beforehand. Big game for Burnley - they need to show they can win games in this league.
