Great by Raphinha to set up Harrison and Leeds lead..

Watching Leeds v Sheffield United and if we can’t beat SU we deserve to go down.

The thing is. IMO that if you cant play football you will struggle with less quality teams but you can counter to victory against better teams, and equally if you play good football, like leeds for example you will struggle when playing better teams because you will be more naive..so if you can get a balance there inbetween that would be ideal for me

Arsenal were appalling, didn't turn up whatsoever.

That's fair to ponder but potentially if Jota stays and we kept him and Raul up top, where would Neto have been playing?

He’d have been on the bench with Podence, and Traore at WB for the sold Doc.

Or Neto would have been playing CM in that lopsided 3-5-2 we played for first few games. Might have actually been alright that!

Yeah, not sure it’s true at all that we prioritised the system to suit Traore at all. The lopsided 352 definitely didn’t do that. And the 343 didn’t not suit Diogo either.

We absolutely did prioritise for the second half of last season. It was discussed at length that 343 got the best out of Traore whereas 352 did out of Jota and it was a conundrum. For the majority of games we went with thr former which set the wheels in motion to him leaving.

Jota is a very good player, put him in a better team and he's likely to do well.

It's just bittersweet as Liverpool get instant quality whereas our reinvestment hasn't hit the ground running (and much of it was unlikely/unintended to)

In fairness (although it's played down somewhat now), Adama was having an excellent season and Diogo had gone off the boil a little, so although I'm not convinced by your analysis you can see why we (Nuno) were keen to keep pushing the former

It’s not the formation that was/is problem it was the style within it.

In the championship we played it the right way and it suited him perfectly.

The 3-5-2 had him picking the ball up and being in positions in the places he should have been in the 3-4-3.

However you cut it, he was mismanaged

We didn’t prioritise the formation around Traore, we did it with what we had available (particularly when Diogo was injured!). We played 352 plenty of times in the second half of the season, sometimes Diogo was good, sometimes not so good.

spurs away was a 343, so we could defend and break in important spaces against their defence, and Diogo was bloody brilliant. We did the same against Norwich with a 352, with similar results just in a different area of the pitch.
