Great strike by Townsend.
Portugal losing 2-0 at home to Cape Verde Islands??? What the actual $#@!ing $#@!? That is staggering.
Otherwise the Dutch have beaten Spain, and Belgium have gone to Israel and won in Wales' group. Wales beat Israel in Cardiff and that is the top two cemented in place for me.
38th best team in the rankings. Portugal are 7th.
Hoddle wittering on about playing Carrick to "give him experience in that role", he's nearly 34 Glenn, never plays anywhere but that position, he's been at Man Utd for nearly a decade and has played in three Champions League finals. Nothing he ever says stands up to any scrutiny.

Pretty much agree, LJ, about Barkley anyway. He seems to always take one touch too many or one touch in a bad way or just one mistake of any sort that takes an otherwise good attacking run and makes it lead to nothing. Flashy but not much substance this year from him, IMO.
Glad it isn't just me.
Bit concerned that my back up is alan though. Suppose II'll console myself in that we ain't talking cool looking football kits though, so there's hope :icon_wink:
You wound me, sir! My views are infallibe!
That certainly doesn't amount to "what the fucking fuck... staggering" to me.
Despite the itv comms team suggesting otherwise, I thought we were pretty poor tonight. Better 2nd half granted, but still no real creation of opportunity. Our goal cam from the ball bouncing off one of their defenders. Rooney should have done much better with any of his 3 chances. Kane did ok. Thought Jagielka had a good game. Gibbs was ok too.
Am I the only one who doesn't see it with Berkley? aside from the late run (where he should've made a better or earlier pass anyway) he strolled around a bit, avoided tackling, turned into trouble a few times and contributed little I thought.
I wasn't impressed last night either LJ but the BBC Chief Football writer (and Everton fan) Phil McNumpty thought differently.
Ross Barkley (for Walcott, 55 minutes) 7
Excellent cameo from Everton's youngster. Added real drive and threat - an exciting talent.
