Leicester (H) build up thread

Also agree that Moutinho and Neves have been fine. I worried about them with Leicester having the extra man but they've found space and dictated the pace of the game thus far.

I sense negativity but we've actually been ok in that half. Far better than I was anticipating and wayyyy better than Tuesday night!

Neves and Moutinho have actually been good out of possession, far less passive, more proactive to steal it but they've both been rubbish with the ball at times. I don't mind so much the bits where we try to play out of their press but loads of times a rubbish touch or sloppy pass under little pressure.

Justin has had the better of Adama so far whereas Neto is killing Pereira, we just need better movement and an additional body in the area when he looks up (like Adama did for his chance).

It's one of the more cohesive performances of the season (not a high bar), we look a llot more confident in our shape with better energy to break. Not sure how much of that is down to Jonny but it feels like it!

Think we needed a goal before half time though as I think we may tire, Jonny probably doesn't play the full game and I wonder if Kilman was touch and go for this game.

Kept a tough and aggressive Leicester side at bay, but we're always likely to do that when we have so many players back.

It means that breaking out of that shape is so difficult when we get the ball back, and we're struggling to string any passes together when we do, which means we're relying on the wide forwards doing it all themselves. Need to give them both more options or there's point in them beating a man

. Jose the least involved so far, but I don’t think that’s his fault. Just want us to get him having some effect on the game second half.
I think that’s where we need someone getting a bit closer to him centrally, let us play one twos with him, give him an easy lay off.

Jonnny is back and makes a huge difference to our play down that side. Agree that the other side lacks cohesion.

It's not been that bad to be honest. We actually look like a side today and everyone knows what they're doing. I don't think it's great to watch though and it's not what i want to see long term but it's doing a job. Still a massive hole behind WJ that means it's still give it to Neto/Traore and hope. Moutinho a year slower than he was when he first joined and it shows but Jonny been good and shows what we've missed.

Not sure i can watch Semedo every week, he frustrates me far too much. i think he's a good footballer but his brain his a second in front of his body and pretty sure he mis-control's the football more than any player i've ever seen. Would like to see the challenge on him at the end of half again though, it looks really innocuous but i think Barnes might kick him first before he clears the ball. It would a soft penalty but on the basis of ones that are now given then i think it's a fair shout.

It's not like we haven't created some really good openings though

Jonny and Semedo are coming inside a lot more to provide options too.

Cracking movement by Traore for his chance but insane defending by James Justin.

We've done ok, had the better chances as well. A lot better than we have been. Look a lot more solid with Jonny in the team. Still too reliant on Neto working some individual magic unfortunately, Jose hasn't got into the game and Traore has been largely pocketed by Justin

I think what Jonny brings is balance that we just haven't had with any other LB/LWB this season.

Also agree that Moutinho and Neves have been fine.

Depends on what your expectations are. They can be tenacious and defend well, but in terms of looking up the pitch the bravery and quality still isn't there.

We need them to create and ignite or this formation will never yield goals for us.

I think a 0-0 looks most likely to me, unless Vardy comes on and gives us problems

Think I’ve watched a different game to most on here, but I thought we looked quite good. Probably the more dangerous team, not sure giving so much ball to Maddison will end well though

Reasonable first half, still look vulnerable defensively down our right side, where I think Semedo is a total liability. I know people here like him, but for me he's a massive weak link. I don't rate him at all.

You watch him pop up with the winning goal now...

5-4-1 of old. Agree with what Slink said.

Jonny rusty in possession but his positioning and pressing is first class and makes this system work.

Traore and Semedo 3 yards away from each other just inside the box for that Neto cross. If either of them made any sort of back post run then they score if it hits then. Honestly not sure what we do on the training ground In attacking situations.

Agree with this. It's the best we have played in quite a few games, but that isn't the highest bar admittedly...
