Leeds 0 - Wolves 1, how the feck did we do that verdict thread

Fosun have never promised the world.

In fact, apart from opening comments on the takeover about where they want to take the club and an interview from Jeff last week they have been pretty quiet and just gone about their business.

Whilst big Kevin was stating we couldn't afford Costa they went out and spent £13m on him.

I would say you got carried away with fans reactions to the takeover rather than what they actually said....but carry on.

They came in promising the world, and have made two very poor managerial appointments. A season that started with so much expectation is ending up with us in the bottom half of the league. I expected a little bit more. And my big concern is that the majority of the players who have under performed this season will again be the backbone of our team next year.

Not entirely sure we can call Lambert a 'very poor' appointment yet, I'm not entirely convinced but he's not Saunders-esque yet.

As for promising the world they clearly said we shouldn't expect instant promotion and results. Given your past overly optimistic views I think it's particularly poor to be so negative so quickly.

Just me or are our odds of winning negatively correlated with our happiness at the team sheet??

Typical. I miss the game because I have to fly to Jersey at 15:40.

What exactly do you have against Fosun frank?

I think you're right! If we get rid of Costa, cav, saiss and the kids, and sign fatty Robinson, Lee Hughes and Leon Clarke, we'll piss the league.

There not going to sack Lambert and he now gets the summer to bring in the players he wants and adapt our style of play.
Like others I'm a bit "so what" over Weiman but Marshall looks an excellent buy (which has caused some angst for those who wrote him off after 10 minutes).
I'm not completely sold on Lambert yet but we will see what happens, he's not been a complete disaster.

Not checked. But do they also increase when Batth isn't on the team sheet?

Marshall and Costa are totally different players dare I say from what I have seen so far Marshall's delivery and range of passing is better.....dribbling and pace not on the same planet as Costa. Thing is if Graham comes back as good as he was 2 contrasting styles of winger would be nice with Cav pulling the Strings from no 10 and Martin banging them in.

I hope we keep Costa I think he will be even better with better players around him (Cav coming back as an example)

Our priorities should be a ST,LB,RB,CB,CM .....if there is a winger we can get that is better than what we have fair enough but Edwards, Doc, Coads, Batth, Saville shouldn't even make the squad if we want to challenge.

Lambert has done reasonably well with what he has IMO however I think like many others we will find out if he can cut the mustard when the season is over.

Not yet, but we will all be doing that when they don't replace Costa and Marshall plays their next season.

If we sell Costa we'd surely spend big. It might not be on a right winger but that's far from the weakest area of the squad right now even with Helder out injured.

I'm cynical with Lambert and Thelwell spending the cash. Mendes then great and I hope Fosun do that, if not it'll be the kind of shit Villa were buying and we've bought the last 2 years.

But I am being cynical here.

Lambert was restricted to cheapo gambles (by PL standards) at Villa in the main tbf. Benteke was his only proper big signing, everything else fell into the £3-5m punt - doesn't buy you much now *cough* Mason *cough* - category or even lower than that.

Without a shadow of doubt :)

I can't believe we spent £3.5m on Mason or £2m on Coady or £1m on Saville. Just terrible.

I don't think we paid £3.5m for Mason.
The total fee might have led to that with add ons (promotion etc) which will never be paid out.

I was never convinced by the original statements of our owners, and so far they have failed to deliver. There is not a hope that Lambert will get Wolves promoted. I don't think it's being negative, just saying how I see it.

They haven't failed to deliver at all though. They have said it was a 3 year plan to get to the Premier League and year 1 hasn't finished yet and they said that it's at least a 10 year plan for how long they will be here. I'm still not sure on Lambert either but he has got us looking like we could get somewhere every so often.

Just curious as well Frank but what statements from our owners were you not convinced about and why do you think Lambert will not get us promoted?

Interesting to see how Saville was the wide left and offered less than 3 balls to the attackers... also interesting to see Weimann so far forward.

Finally, the guy has added a manager's name to all his passmaps - sadly he still has Zenga down as the Wolves manager...
