Well I do sort of agree. That’s why a volume pedal is handy for solos so you don’t have to sit too high in the mix with your regular sound in order to cut above it when going for a lead.
The gain to max sound is pretty lazy. Better to stick a very high gain channel on with the gain on about two thirds and then stick a distortion pedal in front of it. Sounds miles less flabby.
