Yep, good piece, you could argue over his valuation on Kilman and Neves but I think we all go a bit ott on the value of our players.

I think the Kilman valuation is about right at the moment unless Utd come calling. Not that I'd want to sell him for that.

If he plays for England then it'll go up, but Southgate seems pretty rigid with Maguire, Stones, Coady and Mings. Might get in a bloated squad I suppose

unlikely this year owing to the WC build up. If there wasn't a tournament we're preparing for, he'd get into a friendly squad.

It is a good read, certainly balanced and it's a good point about the smaller squad meaning there are opportunities.

I wanted some additions squad wise, but not necessarily huge signings as I was more concerned for depth. I would be happy with the current levels if it meant say 5 years of doing what we are doing, that may not sound very ambitious to some but I am still in the phase where seeing us becoming an established top-flight team is my goal and does mean a lot to me.

Wolves have just recorded their 86th Premier League win all time, giving us one more than Wigan, which I mention as I feel we often lose sight of what a fantastic achievement we have already seen since we returned, to get two top-half finishes and hopefully a 3rd giving us 3/4 is a big form of success.

I cap it as a Pre Prem and Post Prem existence for a reason, as we are still in our infancy in one side of that timeline, having a good history means little to me personally compared to the view of football in my lifetime if I am honest. As a soon to be 40 year old so much of my life Wolves have been below the teams listed below. We are now taking strides though to have a more successful past, and present (1992-present) than many sides.

Just to add to the small squad stuff coming out of the club, this was a decent article on Cundle -

Cundle has followed Kilman - there is now a path to the first team at Wolves

Wolves fans were screaming for a new midfielder in January but Lage was calm - he had Cundle. He proved at Benfica he will give youth a go

Thought the stuff about Cundle only having one club enquire after him and Wolves choosing to keep him here as part of the squad because it worked better for him was quite interesting. Actually I thought most of the Collins interview was a good insight.

I do think it's an interesting read, just that it's framed in a very team friendly way. It's clear to me that he has a relationship which gives him access to this kind of detail, but the price is to be none critical. As discussed yesterday there's nothing in the Henry Winter piece anyone on here couldn't have written, but Spiers doesn't. My guess is to do so would mean he doesn't get pieces like this

Precisely.

Wolves throw Spiers the odd bone like the Besiktas recovery piece and it's in exchange for his silence on investment, ticket prices, Silva etc. They own him.
