Wolves' festive fixture schedule confirmed

Wolves’ fixture schedule for the festive period has been confirmed, with five matches to be broadcast live on TV.

Seems their annual turnover (not profit) is currently around $200m p/a. Small fry in top end football terms. It's this eSports nonsense again.

With the up coming £3bn deal for US rights for the PL it makes sense to try to exploit that market as much as we can. If Peak6 can help us do that it sounds alright to me.

Fosun Sports own WWFC, this deal is for Fosun Sports not WWFC.

And it reads from the article that the clothing/ fashion brand is also under Fosun Sports and not the club. Be interesting to know how that works as that is very murky.

Time and time again people say this is nothing to do with WWFC and will not generate a penny for the club. What do you find so hard to understand about that?

Seems relevant to us that this has happened

How do you, or others, know that this won't impact the club in anyway and won't generate anything for the club? Did Jeff Shi personally tell you his strategy?

"The investment makes PEAK6 a new strategic partner to Wolves, who will help Fosun Sports accelerate the club’s growth in North America by providing capital, expertise, visibility, and activation opportunities for Wolves and Wolves Esports across the USA."

But it has nothing to do with the club...
 
Lots of comments on the official twitter saying "unless they are buying a new centre back, I don't care". You'd think Fosun would realise by now that the fans are only interested in one thing (mainly) - and that is the team that turns out on a matchday.

I've also seen comments suggesting PEAK6 have their finger in the pie at Dundalk in Ireland, but they've gone from being one of the best sides to relegation fodder... so I don't think this news will directly have an impact to the on-field playing staff.

I wouldn't have thought so. They have put a chap in at director level on the football side though

You’re not a stupid man Andrew but even you can see that it is Fosun Sports that has received investment and not WWFC. WWFC will receive no money or revenue from this partnership and the PR from the club is disgraceful and should be challenged,

Why are you being deliberately obtuse and can you explain how this will benefit Wolves the club financially?

Of course its an investment in the group and not the club, I don't for one second believe that this means we'll be signing new players of the back of it.

The fact they've put a director into WW limited and the upcoming rights deal in the US suggests there will be some involvement for the football club in this, I would guess through exposure into the US. Naturally, this benefits the brand as well.

I suppose my considered opinion for all of this is that whatever benefits Fosun Sports group benefits the club, because the club is central to it all.

Jeff talked previously about being self sufficient and looking for other investment partners, hopefully this is the start of the process.

I don't believe it's in Fosuns interest to act in a detrimental way towards the club, whether this turns into profits being funnelled into the club remains to be seen. Likewise, it would be foolish to think that Fosun wouldn't want their dollar in one form or another.

But at worst, having the club central to the brand means we should be in a reasonable place going forward until either a) we get sold b) one of the other ventures becomes more prominent. Once either of those things happen then it could all change anyway.
 
I thought PL rights were negotiated centrally, so not sure why this would advantage us?
