Favourite Caribbean Island

I want to take Mrs HW to a luxury resort somewhere in the Caribbean for a special birthday.

We want somewhere with a beautiful beach but also places we can explore as well. Looking for a luxury hotel as well with great food.

Any suggestions regarding islands you like and places you have stayed would be welcomed.

Don’t really know where to start! Just reading about Tobago in a Trailfinders brochure. It looks to fit the bill with a beautiful beach and Tobago Forest Reserve.

Makes me laugh that my neighbour goes to Barbados. How many people live in a council street in Pensnett and go Barbados

Only been to Antigua but would recommend Galley Bay. Nothing short of extraordinary

My old boss used to go to the Dominican Republic regularly every year. He said the people there were friendly and will do anything for you. I don't think he travelled away from the resorts much though for exploration.

Dominican Republic is alright.

St Lucia is stunning

Barbados isn’t as pretty as St Lucia but you don’t get bitten to death for some reason and the restaurants are epic. Tides, the Cliff, Cin-Cin are brilliant.

I would accidentally book it while there's cricket on. Watching cricket in the Windies is one of the best things I've ever done, especially if there are plenty of locals in the ground.
