Ex-Wolf Watch

Posh. Of course. Managed by Darren Ferguson IIRC.
Tommy Rowe pulling the strings.

You'll note that I often accept that the likes of Foley, Ward and Doyle were poor in 2011/12 and 2012/13 and have to accept their part in our demise but equally I can't hate them because they're in credit overall and it wasn't down to not trying.

You'll also note I do not include Karl Henry in that group.

If Saunders had just picked Berra ahead of one of Johnson or Gorkss we'd probably have stayed up.

Oh god that Cardiff game when he couldn't decide which CB to pick so he picked all 3 and changed us to a 5 which fucked the rest of the team up, and then abandoned it at half time.....

Barnsley away.

Go 1-0 up, hit the bar as well, all inside the first 15 minutes. All over them.

Then completely change it and put O'Hara wide because that was the plan we agreed before kick off.

We lost.

Fucking idiot.

Ipswich being managed by MM a couple of days after when we were terrible was the end for him, given we know how thin skinned Morgan was.

We'll never know, but I personally don't see how anyone could have watched those Xmas performances and thought anything other than we are going down, the snapshot DW put up is 12 points from 16 games, that's relegation form for over ⅓ of the season. The players have a significant part to play obviously, but also as time has gone on we now know his man management and approach to that situation was appalling. Telling Kightly he didn't know who he was for instance, sounds like a low level Clough at Leeds.

Appointing Saunders and the circumstances around that was ridiculous, but sacking Solbakken wasn't.

As soon as we appointed Saunders I put a bet on us getting relegated at 16/1. The bookies assumed that because we were mid table we’d be safe but it was clear we were in a downward spiral and whilst a half competent manager would have been able to pull us out of it we opted for Saunders.

I think SS would have got us relegated too. The players didn’t buy into his ideas but bizarrely he kept picking the biggest culprit, Karl Henry. Much like Leicester this season we didn’t have one of the worst three squads in the division but both SS and Saunders managed to make the team less than the sum of its parts.

I think that January was a back him or sack him moment. We needed to weed out the likes of Henry, hunt etc and bring in a couple of fresh faces. We chose to sack him, as TT said not necessarily the wrong choice, but chose to appoint a moron and let him sign shit like Gorkks

Solbakken's headline signing not actually liking the sport of football wasn’t exactly ideal either.

There wasn't much in the way of evidence he should be backed in January. The only one of his signings that worked out was Sako, we wasted a big chunk of the Jarvis and Fletcher money on Doumbia, Margrietter, Boukari, Pezko's loan fee, probably more im forgetting but none of the others worked out.

Sigurdarson, who was I was referring to in the post above

Oh yeah. Like others I’m not saying we were wrong to sack him. He clearly didn’t manage relationships with the players/staff well enough either to manage that transition

To be fair I'm not saying he was hard done by. We had issues, he didn't solve them (maybe he would have later, who knows).

Just in a binary choice, even given the problems, even given the massive concerns, I would have kept him rather than appointing Saunders. In all honesty I'd appoint John Barnes ahead of Dean Saunders.

Jeong Sang-bin got a start for St. Louis and the only goal in their 1-0 win over Colorado.

Connor Ronan came on in the 57th minute for Colorado in the same match.

At least Barnes could rap...

I see Gary O'Neil is now taking aim at Strasbourg and Chelsea owners, blaming them for a poor January window, and that being the reason for his poor start to life in Strasbourg. Always somebody else's fault...

Coming soon (hopefully)

Are there many premier league teams who can name a short period of time with such an awful list of managers? Instantly thinking about Southampton with Nathan Jones, Ruben Selles, Russell Martin and Ivan Juric, but at least there was a relegation and promotion in the middle of that.
