5.Lied that 80 million people from Turkey would come to UK if we didn't leave EU

Later denied ever saying this.

The other week he denied joining in a pisstake of Trump with other leaders. "I don't know where that's come from" he said. Er, the video you were in?

He's simply an inveterate liar. It comes as naturally to him as blinking.

He also looks like an absolute disgrace. Dresses like a child.

Sir Iain Duncan Smith.

Let that sink in.

This is what we've become.

Fucking horrendous.

£120m on a Brexit Festival while we have tens of thousands of homeless people, and this all makes everyone poorer.

Go Tories!

Come on Boris you floppy sour puss let the Scots have another referendum that they won't vote for because it'll cost them a fortune. Agh the rise of Nationalisim in Scotland eh ... to be fair the Germans would be shitting themselves at an ' Independent ' Scotland joining the EU - it would cost them a fortune.

Just seen the "highlights" of Big Fat Al at PMQs today :icon_lol:

Duffed up by a retiring Corbyn. He's so, so bad. I can't believe anyone actually likes this chancer.

Great one today.

Urgent question on Huawei/5G. Pretty important.

Except sadly the Culture Minister doesn't even sit in the bloody Commons (on account of not being an MP), so all you get is some junior nobody who can't answer anything. What a dreadful state of affairs, Cabinet members who aren't even there to do their job. Democracy.

Errol Graham, 57, weighed four-and-a-half stone (28.5kg) when his body was found by bailiffs who broke into his Nottingham council flat to evict him.

An inquest found his loss of income was likely to have "caused huge distress"...

Assistant coroner Dr Elizabeth Didcock said: "The sudden loss of all income, and the threat of eviction that followed from it, will have caused huge distress and worry, and significant financial hardship.

"It is likely that this loss of income, and housing, were the final and devastating stressors, that had a significant effect on his mental health.

"The safety net that should surround vulnerable people like Errol in our society had holes within it."

Whatever the reason, the lack of public pressure has allowed the DWP to continue to operate a disability benefits system that not only fails to properly support people but often actively makes their lives more difficult. Across the country, many local authorities, health services and charities do good work trying to help ill and disabled people lead fulfilling and independent lives. Frontline staff in these organisations will tell you that they have to spend a lot of their time helping people negotiate the benefits system, or dealing with the consequences of the pressure and scrutiny people face to retain their benefits.

The DWP sits firmly outside these local “ecosystems” of support, dictating rules and processes from Whitehall that people must comply with, despite the abject failure of these policies to achieve their stated objective of moving more ill and disabled people into work. This failure is in large part down to the complete lack of trust between ill and disabled people and the DWP, in both directions. People need to feel protected and empowered in order to make progress toward being more independent. Only a fundamental overhaul that returns trust and power to ill and disabled people can create a system that not only protects against destitution but supports people to flourish.

Couple of quotes from Boris today (from an interview with a 10 year old. Dodge Andrew Neil, only take the tough political interviews)

"In a hole the size of HS2 you just have to keep digging, just keep digging. It's a big hole"

"What's called Brexit will be a dim distant memory (to the ten year old, when he's an adult) It will be like the Wars of the Roses or The Big Bang, it will be an historic event that people will barely remember"

to be fair to boris, sunk costs are irrelevant to an investment decision

on the other hand, i do recall fantasists on here claiming how brexit would put an end to all the "vanity projects" such as HS2

have to wonder, where have all the fantasists gone, fucking puerile dickheads every one

Political journalists walked out of No 10 Downing Street this afternoon in protest at the government planning to give a briefing on the EU only to selected reporters – banning The Mirror, i, Huffington Post, PoliticsHome, Independent and others from attending.

Reporters on the invited list were asked to stand on one side of a rug in the foyer of No 10, while those not allowed in were asked by security to stand on the other side.

After one of Boris Johnson’s most senior advisers, Lee Cain, told the banned reporters they must leave the building, the rest of the journalists decided to walk out rather than allow Downing Street to choose who scrutinises and reports on the government.

Among those who refused the briefing and walked out included the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg, ITV’s Robert Peston and political journalists from the Daily Mail, Telegraph, the Sun, Financial Times, and Guardian.

The briefing was due to be given by government officials, who are meant to be neutral, rather than political.

The tactics from No 10 mirror those of Donald Trump in the US who has been known to try to exclude journalists from reporting on his activities and represents an escalation of Johnson’s tensions with the media, which have been ramping up in recent weeks.

Good stuff from Big Fat Al pushing the merits of the kind of deal Australia has with the EU. Other than the fact that we literally share a land border with the EU and are separated from the continent by about 20 miles rather than 8,500 miles....Australia doesn't have a deal.

He's winging it like the dickhead he always has been.

It's all going to be about "fighting" with the EU over everything now to keep the leavers' anger stoked and keep a flame under the base. Like Trump's presidency, it's not about governing, it's about permanently campaigning to win next time around. And if the EU is permanently in the headlines, lots of other things aren't.
