He's carelessly giving away possession more often than not at the moment. A definite decline.

I don't think he is. He's been fine for the whole of December and January. He was in bad form for a few weeks before that and had the handicap of having a RB outside him who has similar issues in not being able to turn and that left a whole channel vulnerable to any kind of pace or direct threat (hence us conceding tons of goals down that side). That has now been fixed.

I don't see his distribution as a major issue at all, that seems a very odd complaint to me. He is never going to be a Vertonghen style 'footballer first, defender second' player, for what he is within obvious limitations he is fine in that respect and good at actual defending. What he gets paid for. Fuck idiots on Twitter.
