Do we know how much money these new investors have? I would imagine the cash injection is to stave of immediate debts.
Probably also means Villa can play hard ball over the sales of Grealish etc.

1) If (and it is an if) they are who they say they are, then they have money.

2) The cash injection means they can pay bills. Nothing more, nothing less.

3) Hardball would be the wrong term. Sure, they don't have to cave now at the first offer of money up front. But he'll still go and for nothing like what they (mistakenly) think he's worth. FFP needs sorting and now, and they have very few assets.

Perhaps the AC Milan court decision has arrived at the right time for them to say "fuck FFP" and let these new riches be spent. But they will get an embargo just like all the other EFL teams that fell foul.

I am intrigued to know how much of an injection there is. It stinks of a takeover on the terms of "I'll pay your monthly subsistence bills and you cede control. I'll pay off your investment (your - I mean your shadow partners that you can't name) as and when this club is on the gravy train in about four years minimum".

And Grealish will still go cheap. Well, he'll go for what he is worth - about £10m.
