Are you talking about a getting the pods on Android Alan? If so, there should be pod apps like 'PodBean' you can get on Google Play

Since Alan is a yank he probably takes advantage of podcasts directly in google play music:

Its very good, but not released in the UK yet (you can fake it with a VPN though)
