Just a simple point on Fabio.
I watched the U23 game online on Monday night. Chem Campbell (who's a few months younger than Fabio) had a good game. Had you told me afterwards that we'd spent £35m on CC I'd have thought you were mad. But I find spending £35m on CC far easier to believe than...
I can only tell you where I've put my money.
Wolves to finish top half at 11/4
And Skybet had 11/10 Wolves to get more than 45 points. Well we got 45 points last season largely without Raul and being bloody awful to watch, so I had the biggest bet Sky would allow me on that one.
I thought two or three times today Sa wanted to distribute the ball quickly. Looked up and no-one was ready. That'll come though. By and large I'm OK with Sa. It's CD, CM and a 2nd striker that we need.
Enjoyed the first 30 minutes. Could see what we were trying to do, which was a step up on a lot of games last season. That said, it was only Crewe.
Taylor Perry good - but he isn't going to be a PL player this season. Another one who needs a loan and be a stand-out player on loan.
Second half...
Have to say I see this as an upgrade. Lost count of the number of times I yelled at the TV last season when Rui stayed rooted to his line.
I remain resolutely optimistic for the coming season
Fuck me, I am fed up with all this negativity. We were bloody awful to watch last season. Rui was one of the worst keepers in the PL on stats.
I'm looking forward to Lageball, to Trincao, to whoever else comes in and to scoring in the first half.
Someone offered £30 at 3.6 on Betfair for...
I think Mendes has just got lucky here - clearly Nuno wasn't Spurs first choice.
But someone made a good point on the Mix: Nuno to Spurs really turns up the heat on Jeff/Fosun. They're going to look bloody silly if Spurs finish 6th this season and Wolves finish 17th. So maybe they'll back...
I know it's close to heresy on this forum but I'm excited. I'm looking forward to some attacking football after the dross Nuno served up last year.
Sorry...
Well, I'm going to give him my full support. Nuno's gone, he's not coming back and everyone - but everyone - on this Forum was rightly critical of plenty of his decisions over the last season. And the football was - in large part - well below what our squad was capable of producing. Only ten...
Someone - supposedly reasonably ITK on the Mix (not Pirlo) - said four people had been interviewed. Two Portuguese managers, one Spaniard and one from England.
