I am staying in Fulda now, which is in Hessen. I have been here many times and there is a completely different feeling here to the old East German Town I have recently visited. The people are more friendly and there is a much higher standard of living. I love Germany.
As far as I can make out, my statement is correct, if you are on less than £11400 a year, you will be entitled to pension credit and then you will be entitled to the winter fuel payment of £200 or £300, depending on your age. The fuel allowance is not means tested, but pension credit is...
So, if someone gets one pence over the limit to recieve pension credit, the person who does get pension credit, is going to be £200 or £300 better off than the person who won't be receiving it. They are both poor, but one has just been made poorer than they were before.

You are not a rich pensioner on under £12000 a year, on full state pension. These people are often weak, with many ailments and deserve to be looked after. The fuel allowance at least went some way to keeping them warm and it is wrong that these people are being targeted.
I expect more from a Labour government, than to take money away from some of the poorest members of society. Somebody who has worked all their life and recieves a full state pension of under £1000 a month, should not have help taken away from them, it is inhumane, uncaring and disgusting...
