Tbf, his only positive record is the title with Sporting. Last season was a bit more meh, and this season the team seems to have fallen off a cliff. Doesn't help that they've basically sold off anything of value as Sporting is drowning in debt.
But his first season Sporting team played really well.
Shouldn't even have started the season. Oh well, better late than never, I guess. He's still a good man, but not a good manager. Wish him all the best.
Let's see if we can hire someone to turn this around.
Brilliant signing, I think. Should provide us with the much needed experience upfront. Shame it had to take an injury to do it though.
Do you think it's too late to change his name to the proper spelling of "Diogo"? We are trying to keep the Portuguese trend here.
Full respect from a total foreigner. I'm not a fan of monarchs, or monarchy in general, as is well known around here. But the Queen deserves a lot of respect.
A hug to everyone on the forum, a special one to those who will undoubtedly feel down with the news.
Anything other than a win and he has to go. No more chances. We will end up with 3/4 points after this first series of games where we should be comfortably sitting in at least double that.
Honestly, in managerial skill I'd rate, at least, half of this forum higher than Lage at this point.
I've tried to pass as the next GK of Wolves back in 2018. Might as well try my luck at managing the team. At least I would do it for a bag of peanuts and a fry up and not millions. If I failed...
Lage is playing as the typical Portuguese philosophy. Lob it from the back to the front and hope for the best.
We did control for most of the match, shame we can barely string it along nicely.
