    Top 20 Wolves Goals: 1990s (1989/90-1998/99)

Haven't figured it out yet - I'm sure DW will know. Just seen a few more of his goals . . . bloody hell . . . he was the Ruben Neves of the 90s in always scoring top goals for Wolves.

    Top 20 Wolves Goals: 1990s (1989/90-1998/99)

Found it - against Tranmere Rovers in 1991/92 - we drew. Another superb goal to add to the list. I never saw him play and I've just read he died tragically from bone cancer at only 46.

As per DW I reckon it's the goal against Leicester.

Today's update: Kenny Miller: Wolves Goals Kenny Miller played 191 games for Wolves for a return of 63 goals (of which 62 are included in this compilation) - a very decent ratio of a goal every 3 games. At Wolves for near on 5 seasons and was top scorer for 3 of those seasons and he had...

    Top 20 Wolves Goals: 1990s (1989/90-1998/99)

I'll also a do Top Wolves Goals for the 1970s and 1980s (although the available footage is quite limited compared to the 1990s onwards) - but next one will be the 2000s; probably for early November as once the top 20 for the 1990s is voted on as I've actually got to edit and compile the video !

    List corrected.

    Top 20 Wolves Goals: 1990s (1989/90-1998/99)

Sniffer's nomination of Geoff Thomas's goal vs Sunderland is quite a superb run. I also like DW's nomination of Iwan Roberts terrific header vs WBS - simple and neat move. Not every goal has to be a wonder strike from 25-30 yards. We're up to 35 nomination now.

    Top 20 Wolves Goals: 1990s (1989/90-1998/99)

This one. It's a cracker ! I had to change the thumbnail to honour the goal.

It certainly was ODD ! I experienced a few of the seasons and in 79/80 Wolves were sexy and the flavour of the year with their record transfer fee purchase of Andy Gray. Winning the League Cup, finishing 6th and also defeating every team above them (including the double over Man Utd) it looked...

    The Wolves Archive

I'd left for NZ by then but my mates at the time told me that expectations were mixed after the drama of the close season but the nucleus of a reasonable side still remained in Burridge, Palmer, Hibbitt, Clarke, Gray and Eves. Looking back I'd say at the beginning promotion expectations would...

You could argue this was Mick's finest achievement as manager given the state of the club at the time he took over and what he managed to achieve ie reach the play-offs.

Today’s update: 2006/07 Season (52 matches) Season Summary: Championship = 5th (Play Off Semi Finalist). FA Cup = 4th Round. League Cup = 2nd Round. Mick McCarthy became the new manager of Wolves with the sudden departure of Glenn Hoddle in July 2006. McCarthy’s appointment coincided with a...

    O'Neil aka GONe

I am sick to death hearing from GON and the club that we will improve results when we play against the lesser teams. Well I'd reckon the so-called lesser teams will see us as much easier pickings for points. Are we trying to emulate Derby from 2007/08 because that's where we're heading towards.

    O'Neil aka GONe

I haven't really commented much at all re GON but I've been following this thread quite closely and in all honesty the posters on this forum show considerably more intelligence and critical analysis on how the team is performing and where GON is proving to be out of his depth. We are sleep...

    Wolves 1-2 Liverpool: Verdict Thread

You obviously jest - at least you didn’t mention Alan Boswell. Lofty was a great character and well-loved by his team-mates but he was prone to a few errors. When he was good he could be very good but it wasn’t that often. The late Paul Bradshaw was the best Wolves keeper during the 70s.

    Top 20 Wolves Goals: 1990s (1989/90-1998/99)

All good - figured them all out. Update as of this morning (OZ time) - 30 goals already nominated. If I've made an error let me know. Also if someone has nominated a goal already nominated by someone else the nomination goes to the first poster (sorry DW). DW has also told me he'll write a...

    Wolves 1-2 Liverpool: Verdict Thread

God I hope not re "live football as we know it is on its way out longterm?" Having rewatched and edited the matches from season 2020/21 it was absolutely appalling the lack of atmosphere. Despite all the wank seasons Wolves have had (and there's been a few including 2024/25) 2020/21 was...
