Agree hugely with this. It's not a surprise that our best spell of the game is when he came on. Off the ball he completely stopped the Centre-backs passing out to Rodri which allowed us to press them more as a team. Very selfless work.
Attacking he didn't do much (but similarly not much wrong...
For reference, I actually voted for Jota.
I'm not sure if it's just personal opinion that is blinding me and that Jota has particular attributes such as the direct running and aggression, plus always being the focal point for a wonderful Neves diagonal that is leading me much more towards him...
Hi all!
Reading everyone's messages on here the past few weeks made me wonder what the collective opinion on this is.
I may have read it completely wrong and everyone will end up voting one way - but still thought this would be an interesting question:
Who do we all think has the higher...
Our fullbacks that will play (TAA and Chilwell) won't be good enough defensively when we come up against decent opposition, both are great going forward, but neither are solid defensively. A back 3/5 would be a much better option in my opinion, but it won't happen!
I agree and disagree. It is hugely frustrating. He's obviously very talented and I think he will go on to have a good career. However, I don't think he was the ideal understudy to Raul, I think they are very different players. I think of Cutrone as more in the Afobe mould (which we'll all agree...
The issue literally is that they were a credible alternative, to a huge amount of people.
If you add the Lib Dem vote share to the Labour vote share there is almost exactly the same number as the Tory votes.
The inability of those two parties (and the greens, to a smaller extent) to work...
I think Mourinho will do well there. He's wanted Alderweireld for years. If he can convince everyone to stay that would be a great start. Obviously they need a new right back, but I think he will completely sort that defence out.
Eric Dier could be an absolute force, haha.
People have been going on for ages about Trent playing in midfield, and that's what was being tested. Personally, I thought he looked totally lost with no idea what he was doing!
If you look at Abraham's goals, I very much doubt Wesley or Haller score them, maybe one each but can't see either of them scoring that third. And that's me who very much rates Haller, physically similar heights, but I think that's where the comparisons stop.
I'm sorry, but Harry Maguire's an absolute fraud. He gets so many plaudits for his random strolling into midfield and is labelled a "ball player" for it. He has so many woeful lapses in concentration. He's an alright premier league CB, nothing more, nothing less, the money being paid is absurd!
Yeah I agree, it was generally a 4-2-3-1 wasn't it, and the odd diamond midfield here and there. That could well suit Jorginho and Kante better than the Sarri system did, but we'll see!
Was never blessed with seeing Bull or Keane, so...
Diogo Jota
Raul Jimenez
Steven Fletcher
Andy Keogh - will always love him!
