    Keir Starmer at it again..

With Starmer in Samoa this week Angela steps in for PMQ’s tomorrow and looks like she intends to come out swinging:

    Keir Starmer at it again..

Not sure you can point the fingers in any particular direction to be honest, the criticism is coming from all sides and a lot of it is just points scoring nonsense. The £200 to an awful lot of people amounts to no more than an unnecessary gift of public money straight in the back pocket. I’m...

    Good people of Britain...........PANIC

Just done an evening ride and back from the pub a bit pissed. Crazy warm. The net says 16 degrees at nearly midnight. Was a little shower when in the boozer and noticed when home the car is covered in that dirty sandy rain. Not sure what to read into that but all very odd for the middle of October.

Thanks for the input on this guys, much appreciated. I did wonder if doing this properly, as in taking the opportunity while in that neck of the woods to get around, explore and do it justice would see it morph into a too time-consuming and lengthy road-trip adventure. You guys pretty much...

    Ex-Wolf Watch

You just can’t get anywhere with this Alan. My parents are elderly, 86 and 84 now, still attending but have been STH’ers since the move 20 odd years ago, They are from South Wales and Kilmarnock in Scotland, and relocated to that area and wanted to watch live football. Their closest...

Thank you. My son happens to be going to the wedding of a Uni mate in Charlotte next week, flying into Atlanta and doing a bit of a road trip taking in a NASCAR event in Nashville, and doing a bit of in-with-the-natives line dancing and that sort of thing. I quite fancy some of that but mustn’t...

    Ex-Wolf Watch

I get McAlinden gets a bad rap but as someone who’s had the most ferocious of debates with family members who are MK Dons season ticket holders, his header in 2014 gave one of the most pleasurable moments in over 50 years of supporting Wolves, and the manifestation of the strained vocal chords...

Anyone done Graceland? It’s a big birthday for the wife next year and I know Elvis (himself, more than Graceland itself specifically) has had a bucket list appeal, so am looking at putting a surprise trip together. I know Mississippi, and also New Orleans would be really fun and could be...

New - The things that really annoy you

On the subject of tight car parking spaces, had a bit of a barney this afternoon with someone in an massive XM 50 who’d rested her rear door against my motor whilst struggling to get the kids out. Didn’t realise her fella was getting the dogs out of the back and wound my neck in a bit when...

    Climate Change Debate

A word of caution as we find ourselves tripping over each other in gushy support of all projects environmentally conscious. Take time to have a read about the Cambridge Guided Busway, which was considered the best conversion type of the 16 mile stretch of the derelict former railway line that...

    Climate Change Debate

Any excuse to squeeze a picture of this vanity project debacle in. Fucking scandalous waste of money and still angry at that and the way the doubters were shouted down. Digging the bloody thing up now too so the overall cost astronomical. What happens when you let dreamers loose with public...

    The Car Thread

Haha, to be fair I’ve always been susceptible to the mid-life crisis penis extension thing. Worrying thing is it’s getting worse not better but I’m squaring that by looking at the miserable grey, passionless one-foot-in-the-grave types I seem to be surrounded by these days. I got rid of this...

Thought it started at 54, and no doubt a whole load more for a decent spec and range. That Beamer is 1500 mile and 45k. The MG is certainly quick, but it needs way more than that to tip the scales. I hope it will come I really do, I’m ready to go EV but give me the product and we’re in business...

Thing is it’s miles away from pulling the punters who like their motors over from ICE’s. I mean, you could blow a wad on a not bad effort from a Chinese brand or save yourself 10 grand (say it quickly and you don’t notice it, but honestly, 10 GRAND) and buy yourself this baby (for eg) from one...

Always kept an eye on Polestar after their 6 concept wowed at Goodwood a couple of years ago. EV’s are desperately in need of some sexy looking convertibles and coupes to draw those across uninspired by SUV’s and saloons. Thought the 6 concept was stunning and there were maybe signs of life...

    The Velotard Thread.

Wow, that’s a nice gift for sure. I’d say definitely have go at putting it together yourself. It’s a good opportunity to get to know your bike and you’ll be able to use some of the knowledge for servicing and repairs going forward. Plus, better to be doing that now in the comfort of your front...

    The Advice Thread

You need to keep your eye on Chase as their interest rates were very attractive a couple of years ago, but they’re all about opening offers then very crafty with their constant tweaking of rates and equalisation across various accounts. The drip-drip effect means you don’t immediately notice...

Keep a Lloyds account as the staple (and the app is excellent by the way, thoroughly recommend) but bounce around the others as offers and favourable rates dictate. Over the last few years have used/am using Lloyds, First Direct (different, by also very, very good) Metro, Chase, Paragon, Trading...
