We’ve played some nice stuff through them on the counter. It’s amazing how easily they get into our area though

The Road to World Cup 2026 and UEFA Nations League

Yeah, I guess they just don’t need to. In an ideal world we wouldn’t either. I mean when Southgate resigned I was happy for Potter to be the replacement but it sums up the issue if he (or Carsley) are the best options. So although we got close with Southgate we have to decide if we seriously...

The Road to World Cup 2026 and UEFA Nations League

Yeah, it’s never been a thing though has it weirdly. The one that springs to mind is the English guy who was Sweden manager in the 50s? And they got to the final! So it’s not exactly a new thing. That said, I read a stat that suggested there hasn’t been a foreign manager win a World Cup. And...

I’ve been to Dulwich Hamlet a few times, always a good place to watch a game!

I certainly felt we’d done well at the time to get £5m for him, and I still think that however, hard to say he wouldn’t have been a better option than Fabio or Sasa last season with how things went..

    The Wolves Archive

Was a weird season. We had two spells of looking like a really good team with a 4231. In between a small spell where we were more direct in a 442 but quite effective. When we were bad we weee REALLY bad though. Also was nice of Hunt to finally remember how to trap a ball at the all important...

You want the player carrying the ball from deep to be Cunha I think. No idea if I would set us up with a back five, there are pros and cons for any shape we play as the squad is so badly balanced and coached. If we did, I’d be tempted to have Lemina and Toti outside of Dawson but I’m not sure...

Forget sometimes Craddock won fans player of the season, ludicrous. Doyle was immense. I prefer to remember him for his first 12-18 months as after that he was a shadow of the player

O'Neil In, Out and Shaking it all about

His form last season was generally very good, and he was essentially a right back in a back four with the way we defended for most of the year. If we’re playing with out and out wing backs he’ll be solid, help us retain the ball but we are creating very little

O'Neil In, Out and Shaking it all about

but wait, I thought he was the most detailed person O’Neil had ever met (apart from himself)?

    Ex-Wolf Watch

Yeah, I think his best spells/performances have been when he’s been able to find the balance of receiving centrally as well as wide. He’s so difficult to get the ball off that when he was receiving inside that pocket he could cause carnage whether it was on the counter or even when building an...

He’s not rubbish though is he. Frustrating yes, lacking the final product/quality to be an elite performer but he’s a pretty useful premier league player with some unique characteristics too that when used effectively can be devastating.

    Missing Kilman hugely

Playing a back four too… ( a couple of horrendous away fixtures aside)
