Started alright, had a good chance to begin and should really have capitalised on it or at least had a shot.
Sending off changes the half completely. My first reaction watching that live was that it was a red card. He lunged, it was high, it injured the opponent. But everything else - awful...
So many words to say basically nothing, could get the same narrative from someone reading the results off a list.
After the chaos of the previous two years that kind of personality is what we needed, I enjoyed League One as a novelty but if you don't go up first time it can be quite difficult...
Not sure about tactical masterclass as we rode our luck a lot on Chelsea's poor finishing but they are right about us adapting after the first 15 to how Chelsea played. Normally O'Neil, similar to Southgate IMO, struggles to make pivotal in-game changes and it's where you can see a weaker coach...
I really enjoyed that as a spectacle even if the quality wasn't always there.
First half was pretty even to me, Chelsea had the better opportunities but we were in the game. We gave up a couple big chances which Chelsea should have punished us, in real time I was focused on Sterling but seeing...
Somehow after the League Cup win a narrative set in that Erik ten Hag was doing really well and Man United were on their way back. Before they lost 7-0 to Liverpool there were headlines saying they had surpassed Liverpool or were progressing miles ahead, it's completely delusional.
Once those...
You can really see the difference that Rice makes to Arsenal in these kind of games. Exactly the type of situation they would have crumbled in previously, he adds so much drive to their game and I lost count of how many times he won the ball back for Arsenal. Having Saliba fit isn't bad either...
Opinion or not, I'm still curious where this myth of Max Kilman being a decent defender comes from. Apart from being English what exactly does he have going for him? A lot of casual fans and pundits will only see us against the Sky Six, but it's not like he particularly performs against them...
I would like to see Jinky's team, but he doesn't seem to trust Sasa at all to start a match.
Need to ignore the name, should be aiming to win here. Our record against Chelsea is decent.
My first game at Molinuex since end of last season! Will be good to be back.
Pretty rare for a manager's contract to expire and them simply leave isn't it? The only times in the Premier League I can think of it happening is West Ham with Allardyce and Moyes. I suppose with that club the precedent is there, but them letting Moyes go for Gary O'Neil does all sound...
I imagine this is dependent on how well West Ham do in the Europa League, I find it hard to gauge how much Moyes is or isn't under pressure over there.
Would be useful for us to have them take O'Neil and for a fee.
