I'd say it was people betting and not 'reading the room'. As more bets are placed, the odds shorten and more money is lumped on. It's like a run on the banks. A self fulfilling prophecy, removed from real life.

These guys are professionals, they make a living bending the rules to gain an advantage.
To me the problem is the offside rule. Silva was offside and interfering with play. Old school. But it made sense to me.

What he is doing is getting the players to play for him, I know that is not the 'be all and end all' but for the most part they do seem a together bunch.
If and when O'Neil is sacked and it's a big if, I don't see anyone improving things without better players.
I think they'll stick with O'Neil and spend again in January.
