Yeah, I had a Music Magpie clear out of CDs a couple of years ago. Boxes and boxes of absolute dreck that I must have convinced myself was good at the time. I think a lot of it was buying an album on the strength of one good song, that turned out to the only good song.
I have probably spent more...
Moon Safari by Air.
I remember listening to this a lot when it came out. Dear God, it's bland. Plinky plonky, emotionless and without any sort of edge whatsoever. A couple of nice tunes in there but nothing that would make me go back to it again. File with Dido in the Music for Dinner Parties...
Pretty much our experience. No-one has a 90-minute commute or a long drive home after having to work late, all the things we thought we missed like the camaraderie, face-to-face chat, easy collaboration are simple to manage online. It's difficult to measure the impact on productivity as work...
The Last In Line by Dio.

Teenage me played this record to death when it first came out. I haven't really listened to metal since the end of the '80s so this is a real throwback. Lyrically preposterous with a weird penchant for meteorological...
I made spinach and ricotta cannelloni last night (well, cream cheese as there seems to be a world ricotta shortage). First time I've ever had it, I think. Bloody delicious.
Listen to an album you used to love but haven't listened to in ages. Do you still love it or has it not aged well? You can review in one word or write a 2,000 word essay - I'm not the boss of you.
First up for me - The Lemonheads - Come On Feel The Lemonheads

I gave my GP friend a big roll of plastic sheeting that I use in the garden to pass on to the local hospital this weekend. She said they're trying to source mattress bags to use as body bags, but if that fails they'll need to just wrap them up in plastic sheet. So that was cheery.
Just catching up with this thread. I don't understand the calls for Starmer to be given some sort of official role in the corona crisis, or for there to be a national unity government. The Tories have a thumping majority - the first party in ages to have one - and Labour (of which Starmer was a...
Give it a rest, guys. People's views on Johnson are well known, my own included, and we can assume they won't have changed just because he's ill. There are plenty of other bones to pick with the government without getting into a who-cares-the-least battle.
Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne. :(
Weirdly, I was listening to Welcome Interstate Managers for the first time in ages yesterday. Love that album and Hackensack is one of my favourite melancholy songs.
Yeah, all canoeing/kayaking events cancelled until May. Bit of a pisser as I've been training like buggery for six months to do the Devizes to Westminster 24hr race at Easter. I've got the body of a Greek god now and it's all going to go to waste while I sit on my sofa eating crisps for two months.
