Driving Away From Home - It's Immaterial
Drive Blind - Ride
I Can See Clearly Now - Jimmy Cliff
Happy Birthday - Stevie Wonder (double points for that one)
The opening of 10 minutes of Newsnight is pretty extraordinary for the BBC. Baldly saying "Your prime minister and your government are blatantly lying to you."
Quite enjoying the Last Dance, the story of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. We've watched the first two episodes, but no idea how they're going to spin it out for ten.
I think Killing Eve is getting a bit rambly and directionless. There doesn't seem to be much reason for any of them to be doing what they're doing. And, frankly, if Villanelle isn't a sexy cold-blooded psychopath, I'm not sure I'm that interested!
I get if you don't have a garden, lockdown must be pretty unpleasant, but it's not like we're a nation of Terry Waites chained to radiators, is it? Just have a bit of patience, stay at home or stay local, and wait for it to pass. The beach isn't going anywhere and there will be nice weather in...
Voice of the Beehive - Let It Bee
Another one of my late '80s obsessions. Not sure how I had time for so many! I still really like this - perky sunny indie pop with fun lyrics and a good energy. There are some cracking tracks - I Walk The Earth, Don't Call Me Baby, I Say Nothing. Always nice...
I just sync my (fairly basic) Garmin watch to the phone by Bluetooth when I get back from a ride/paddle/run. Loads to Garmin Connect and Strava with all your stats and GPS stuff.
Not just world class, WORLD BEATING!!
What the fuck does that even mean?! If this is some sort of competition, it's difficult to think of a measure where we'd even be Isthmian League, let alone playing at the highest level and beating the rest of the world.
Here's one I listened to a few weeks back... OMD Architecture and Morality.
I loved OMD in their early '80s heyday. Wasn't so fond of the super poppy stuff they did later.
Three cracking pop singles on this in Souvenir, Joan of Arc and Maid of Orleans herald a move away from the more...
Those are two damn good songs. Not heard the rest but that seemed to happen quite a lot with that sort of band - a couple of goodies and then bugger all else.
Nirvana - Nevermind.
Not what you'd call an obscure choice. Grunge was a big thing for me at the end of the 80s, early 90s and I listened to this a lot but it's been a long time since I've heard it straight through. A couple of songs obviously super familiar and still get regular airplay but...
Only know Sia from the song Breathe Me which played over the ending of 6ft Under which I still watch if ever I feel like a little cry. The Simpsons also used it for their "how everyone dies" ending. Great song.
