    Gigs - First/Worst, Best/Last, Missed/P#ssed

I don't think anyone chooses loud guitar music for something they haven't heard before. Personally I never tire of shouty girl bands.

    The Goggle Box Thread

Yeah :) It's tempting to think that Americans are just like Brits but with different accents, but they're really, really not. Just look at the US contingent on here - loons to a man!

Bit behind the curve so just started Tiger King. What a batshit crazy country America is! Last episode of Killing Eve was pretty good. Nice to see a bit of the old ultraviolence from Villanelle again.

Not getting anywhere with the small girl/big guitar vibe?

    Gigs - First/Worst, Best/Last, Missed/P#ssed

Yeah, I got fairly familiar with Kramer and Shimmy. King Missile's Detachable Penis is a fave song :) Power of Pussy by Bongwater still stands up. Some very good almost folk stuff on that. Double Bummer is long rambly mess of a record which is really hard work. Stuart Maconie featured it on his...

    Gigs - First/Worst, Best/Last, Missed/P#ssed

First: Iron Maiden, Southampton Gaumont, October 5th 1984. World Slavery Tour. Supported by Waysted. Not bad as first gigs go! Worst: Bon Jovi, Hammy Odeon 1990.I'd passed through my teenage metal phase and went along as a favour to a mate. Having gone through thrash and now grunge, this just...

    Revisiting old albums

I've had Soul Mining on this morning. It's excellent. The sort of thing I'm appreciating more in my old age.

    Revisiting old albums

I've been revisiting some classy '80s pop in the last few days. The likes of Talk Talk, Prefab Sprout and The The. Not stuff I was particularly into at the time but have grew to love later. Listening now, it's very good stuff. Quality songwriting and often quite experimental.

    Earworms

I've got Lyin' Eyes by the Eagles stuck in my head after putting it on the Cummings playlist. I can sing it beautifully, if I say so myself, but I only know one line so it's beginning to annoy the rest of the house.
