That Bathams at 10.30 has done you no favours with this take.

Well, what can you say about that?! I think we just about deserved the win, though Spurs had lots of the ball and I the second half had a really good spell of pressure (albeit no shot on target). I thought Bellegarde was poor today, provided no support for Semedo, who frequently got forward...

Tbf, I have been vocal about VAR ruining celebrations.... I was wrong today! (though I was worried VAR would rule out Lemina's goal for offside)

    Beer

There are two "House of Trembling madness" one is a viking hall and the other a Georgian town house, both good. The viking hall one is cooler but much harder to get in. The lost from Leeds pretty much nails it, but Jack's shout of Pivni is excellent.

I'm with you on semi-automated or the dual cameras piece. I'd still bin VAR but that's because I don't feel it has improved the game.

I think the most important but in that post was the word "subjective" the correctness of decisions is often subjective (even with the hours of experience we've all got watching games we don't all always agree on decisions) and the choice of football with/without VAR is a choice. Either way...

So the question is "has VAR made the game 6% more enjoyable?" The game was far more fun pre-Var, however those days are gone - so the only real possibility is to work out how to actually make VAR work.

2-3% is a pretty small figure, especially when calls such as the pen v Luton are classed as "correct". So, the question is, has the game become more enjoyable with a 3% improvement in decisions and the introduction of delays for a VAR review?

AI still need a the output reviewed by a skilled professional so it's a none starter 😂 Joking aside, AI isn't yet in a position that it can run and provide consistently accurate responses without a human reviewing and monitoring the output.

I think the tech is always going to introduce delays and spoil the flow of football. Imo there are 3 ways to fix it: 1) get rid of VAR (not happening) 2) limit VAR reviews to 30 seconds with no slow-mo 3) VAR fully refs the game and the person on the pitch is the mouthpiece.

Correct, but then fans haven't stood around for 4 mins in the rain for the wrong decision?

I don't think we have less incorrect decisions and we have just introduced delays. I also think football is at its best when it's fast flowing, which isn't achievable with minutes wasted to still get a decision wrong.

Sheff Utd 2-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Agreed he needs confidence in his ability, there are no top flight players who don't believe in their ability. Belief doesn't equal reality though, and Fabio struggles in every department. Slow, ponderous touch, poor finishing and always offside. I don't blame him, I blame Jeff for his...

Agreed, at least the ref only has one view, makes a decision and that's it. With VAR we have minutes of standing about in every game only for the wrong decision to be regularly reached every week. So we have less spontaneous moments and incorrect decisions, feels like a lose/lose situation...

Sheff Utd 2-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Problem is that he is shit. He isn't a Premier league footballer in any capacity. I also think this will have a massive impact on his mental health and I genuinely wonder if he can recover from it. Best thing for Fabio is to move him on to a low league team in Portugal where he scores a few...

    Sheff Utd (A) 4/11: Build-Up & Match Thread

Well, that half deserves to be shown after MOTD never mind last. Sheff utd are appalling and we've dropped to their level. Ran marked out of the game and so Semedo is the only outlet and he's as potent as a spoon.

    The Music Thread Strikes Back

That would have been an awesome gig! I saw the Yo-Yos (Danny McCormack - Wildhearts bassist)any years ago, such a good night of rock and roll, supported by The Hives about a year before they had a hit with "Hate to say I Told You So".

    The Music Thread Strikes Back

I think it's the 5th time I've seen them (I can only fully remember 4 but I have an inkling I saw them at Leeds Cockpit once...) They have such a good choice of set list and Tony's energy is incredible for a front man, even at the age of 54 he was running about the stage in a pink velour suit...
