3 in the middle to stifle them and hit on the break as Gomes and lemina can cover the ground. Should allow us to be more compact and stay in the game longer I guess than playing a front 3 I guess?
That being said the 3 in the middle hasn’t exactly been solid at all this year, so more theory...
Potter would be a more exciting appointment IMV. Higher potential ceiling with atleast a bit of a track record to speak of. Definitely more of a progressive appointment than moyes, but not a left field punt
Spot on.
I don’t personally have an issue with a back 5. What I have an issue with is our supposed inability to play anything other than a back 5. It’s not as if we are trying to reinvent the wheel playing a back four, most teams do, ofcourse with different variations with and without the ball...
He can defend, not sure if it’s more concentration with him? As you said, he basically pockets Salah every time…
Not adverse to going 3/5 at the back, 3 in midfield and play JSL and Cunha up top similarly to Jota/Raul. Obviously the midfield 3 have very different attribute to neves, mout etc...
I’d be saying 4 points really is absolute minimum. Seeing as most eggs have been placed in the ‘hard fixtures to start’ argument you have to be taking points (and not just two draws) from the latter 2 games. If you buy into that remit, Ofcourse
