Somehow I can't see any sanctions/penalties issued by the powers that be, more's the pity. But something has to change to ensure this is never attempted again.
Regardless if they pull out there should be a massive penalty to all the clubs involved (not a fine) i.e. bare minimum say a 20 points deduction (so they can't qualify for any European tournament next season and/or be relegated).
If they pull out and nothing happens we all know they'll try...
Well that twat Holloway just proves yet again what Mark Twains once said: "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."
There's been a number of terrific posts on this topic and I hope, and pray, this is how it plays out as Johnny75 has indicated.
My love for the game has slowly dwindled over the years, due to the incessant greed and domination of the "Sky 6" and their bastardisation of equity for the "beautiful...
Well, last year, we had 112 consecutive days of hard lockdown in Melbourne and that literally nearly drove me insane. We had another 5 day lockdown in February this year (based on literally half a dozen cases) and our vaccine rollout is glacier in its pace here in Oz.
However, given what you...
Just what I commented about a bit earlier. The current standard of refereeing in the EPL is consistently incompetent; at times it borders on cheating but I know that wouldn’t be the case. They’re just hopeless.
Despite their dire performance so far, how was that not a penalty for Newcastle ?
The standard of refereeing in English football (including VAR) is a joke that is beyond ridiculous. I can recall a time when the officials in the UK game were the best in the world. Now they’re generally a...
Well getting up at 5am (Oz time) to watch that is 2 hours I won't ever get back.
Job done in putting any relegation fears out of the window (not as if they were really there), but overall a very turgid performance which we've seen so often this season.
Surely we can now use the remaining 7...
I 100% concur that relegation this season is a non-issue . . . however . . . next season is a totally different ball game and unless there is a dramatic improvement in recruitment, Raul recovers (no guarantee on that) and a total refresh of attitude from Nuno and the squad then I can see next...
Just looked up in Those Were The Days and it says the game when Knowles sat on the ball was against Bolton in February 1967 which Wolves won 5-2.
interestingly, it incensed Francis Lee who took a swing at Knowles and this scuppered Wolves interest in signing him before Man City did 6 months...
Yup I was at that game vs Notts Forest - one of the most bizarre Wolves games I ever saw. Wolves should have been 6 up stead of 3 and you’re right that at the end they were just hanging on.
i wasn’t at the game when he sat on the football but my dad was, and I will always remember him coming...
I’d also add that in over 55 years of following Wolves I’d rate Peter Knowles as the most talented player who wore the Old Gold shirt in that time.
Only Robbie Keane comes close - Knowles was that good.
Although, if he had decided to continue playing I doubt he would have made the 1970 World...
When it’s all said and done, Knowles has always said he has had no regrets and has been perfectly happy which, in spite of his enormous football talent, one’s own happiness and the contentment he has had makes any disappointment Wolves supporters have had a moot point.
Might need a separate thread on this for us oldies that can remember that far back but I fully concur.
Even when England missed out in 74 after drawing with Poland in 73 it was one of those matches that 99 times out of a hundred they would have won. I don't think I've seen a game where a ball...
