Possibly to avoid outcry from the fans? Sellars has never been popular, Davis is a more palatable option for many fans purely from the 'local boy gets to coach his team' perspective and conveniently will happily work with Scott and take the flack and/or plaudits while the slimy bloke who slagged...
Beale did the right thing. He wasn't ready for this job or the pressures that come with the situation the club is in right now. If his agent encouraged discussions, I wouldn't say that's his fault. He has my respect for doing the right thing.
As for Sellars, part of me does wonder if Davis is...
My god this is depressing. The yes man gets a voice. We're fucking doomed.
Another interesting point of note from that interview - Keen reckons the statement about 'no outstanding candidates' actually meant 'no outstanding candidates after everyone who we wanted turned us down' but then goes on...
I actually don't think he's as bad as many are making out. His ideas aren't terrible, he's had some success with limited backing after a terrible season last time around, and he's improved Kilman, blooded Toti (then inexplicably dropped him) and Cundle, arguably got more out of Neves, Podence...
Very odd performance.
Midfield was predictably completely dominated by Brighton. Not seen us retreating so much ground in the centre, even when we play a two, on the scale we have lately. Dendoncker huffed and puffed but always looked on the periphery of the game. The amount of times the ball...
I've supported Bruno the whole season and am mindful he hasn't been helped by the shocking recruitment but today is unacceptable. Poor team selection, Fabio taken off instead of the carthorse Hwang, Toti nowhere despite doing nothing wrong.... I'm done, wholesale changes please
Shocking, shocking, shocking.
Worst performance of the season, total garbage.
Terrible defending but why the hell is Hwang in the team? He's truly diabolical, every touch hopeless
Remember that time Sellars digged out Nuno for taking Podence (who was at the club when he said it) ahead of Olmo (who was NEVER coming) and Hwang (who was doing bugger all in the Bundesliga)?
That aged well
Agreed. Bruno has by and large done a great job. I'm sure there were things we don't know that influenced the selection, but even so it does call into question our mentality
Dire. Bruno has to take a look in the mirror for this one - team selection dreadful, non-performing players left on far too long. Scrappy game - all well and good drawing Newcastle out to try and exhaust them, but you have to then do something once the opposition starts to tire. Guimaraes...
We've had our share of shocking referees but no complaints there - clear penalty. Cundle's mistake made it inevitable unfortunately, but that's what happens when you show such little attacking intent for 70 minutes.
Didn't think I would ever say this but we've missed Dendoncker. So little...
