Bob Hazell. I remember crying after he got sent off late in that FA Cup game at Arsenal, and Malcolm Macdonald poached a last minute winner. Before that, Kenny Hibbitt had scored a spectacular 35 yard equaliser.
Those were the days, my friend..........
It wouldn't surprise me if Mason was off in January. He was bought to be a first teamer, but hasn't been able to get a regular place. He has been a disappointment, in my view.
A good clear out is a good thing.
Gladon - as we have Bod, Dicko, Cav, Mason, and the kid who played on Saturday.
Wallace and Saville - no reason necessary
Ola John and Stearman - if they dont play what's the point.
Tex - Is his heart in it ?
Saville was a mystery selection ahead of Cav but I thought that Price and Bright were clever ones. You can't have the entire old guard giving up hope before the transfer window - Price was a signal that all is not lost for them. Price deserved his chance anyway. Bright's selection told everyone...
Classic stuff. Bring in 12 players when 5 would have done for now.
Then, new manager comes in and says the squad is too big and there'll be a cull, all before signing new players.
You can't beat continuity !
We are lucky to have Fosun. Hopefully, as a sensible fellow, Lambert will be able to...
One player who will be in the spotlight is Prince. Interesting that he didn't even make the bench under Edwards.
And I agree with the suggestion that Dave Edwards should be captain. Will take some pressure off Baath too.
I think he was being polite about our supporters. Our home attendance is pitiful, and we give our born and bred club captain massive stick.
I never thought that Wolves was a fair weather supporters club, but I'm starting to think so at the moment.
Is there any chance that Lambert could play Bod and Dicko upfront at the same time ?
Whatever happened to good old striking partnerships ? Richards and Dougan, Bull and Mutch.
The last time we briefly looked an attacking threat was when Dicko and Afobe played together. The moment that Dicko...
Edwards and Doherty were stand outs for me in the second half. I'll say one thing for Dave, he's a tremendous attacking header of a ball.
That said, and even allowing for the Ince penalty, we were second best on the day. We can't play like we did in the first half, be lucky to be only 2-0 down...
