No cigars for drawing with Rotherham.
But I'm very pleased that our new Chinese owners saw two of their signings do so well. Very significant that Mendes and the Benfica president were with them.
I reckon this is big time. But we need to get far away from Rotherham, Crawley and Burton Albion...
Great interview with Moxey. I've no doubt that he has run a good club. I have no doubt that things will change enormously under Fosun, probably for the best for the team, who knows for the staff and community.
Anyway, the fat man is a shrewd guy - Delia will ensure that he is kept in pies forever.
I'd forgotten Hibbitt. What a player, plus he stayed fit for the whole of his career.
That's what I can't work out - in the 70's and early 80's we had the spine of a team that seemed to play week in week out - Palmer, Parkin, Hibbitt, Carr. John Richards on the whole kept fit. These players...
What are peoples' views on our best signings ever, under two categories :
- Most exciting, at least in theory
- Best, in practice
My vote would be :
Exciting - Andy Gray. Followed by Tony Daley.
Best - Andy Thomson. Followed by Matt Jarvis.
Have a look at his missus. Can best be described as an East European dolly bird, who is perhaps past her prime but still fit nonetheless.
I am a bit dubious of what she will make of the bright lights of Wolvo.
Right decision for Jackett to go. For us, and Jackett. As somebody said earlier, he was a dead man walking as soon as our form dipped, so better to deal with it now.
Zenga hopefully has a point to prove. Let's hope he makes it !
I have no idea whatsoever what we will do under Zenga at...
I've heard that Li and Jackett are not seeing eye to eye on transfers at the moment. Jackett asked for a number 1,6, 7 and two number 9's to strengthen the squad. Li came back half an hour later with a Banquet !
So Jacket stays for now. But I reckon he will be gone within six weeks. He must know that his position is untenable and I'm sure a deal has been done for him to leave when a new manager has been identified. That's probably a good thing - it's silly to rush a managerial appointment.
Will Bruce want to drop down to Championship now hs star is on the rise again ?
Martinez would.
Maybe they keep Kenny on as caretaker only until they find the right man. Silly to rush such an important decision. Kenny seems to have zero ego, and knows the writing is on the wall.
Surely the new owner must have realised after the Port Vale bore draw that Jacket needs the boot. This is Jacket's squad, and his style of play.
Time to move on from mediocrity.
It's going to be very unsettling for a group of average players to give their all at Rotherham, knowing that most of them will probably get canned or demoted.
Not that I care. We need yet another clean sweep, and hopefully we'll have the firepower to do it properly this time.
