They aren’t bodies from anywhere. They are first team players contracted to us and players expected to be back for pre-season.
He’s added positional context above with the way he’s written down the squad but you still claim to be right!
Another who can’t read!
I’ve only included Mosquera and Chiquinho (who is confirmed as being looked at in pre-season) back in the numbers.
I’ve not included anybody else and we are at 23 first team players whilst needing another striker to add to that group. So 24 players is a full squad...
I think you can separate quality and quantity but of course it’s your right to twist it whichever way you please. I just don’t think the numbers argument is as extreme as you make out.
There’s no doubt we all want more quality and upgrades in certain positions.
3 keepers
5 centre backs (plus Semedo can tuck in)
5 wing backs
4 centre mids
2 right sided attackers (Neto, Sarabia)
3 left sided (Cunha, Bellegarde, Chiquinho)
1 striker (at least one to be signed)
You can argue about the quality, and there will be changes in personnel, but I don’t think it’s...
People are struggling to count it seems.
I’ve got the current squad at 23 players with three keepers, Mosquera, Rodrigo Gomes & Chiquinho included.
In terms of forwards, six or seven for the three forward positions would be more than enough (RAN & R.Gomes are also options not included here) and...
To be fair I was referring to people chilling out for a month, not that we or others wouldn’t be signing anyone!
We are one striker off having a full squad now, with returning loanees making up numbers to two players per position at least.
Incomings will then be dependant on sales (Neto...
Not really. He can play high up but he’s a touchline player really. Much more direct and pacey than somebody who plays inside and creates.
O’Neil wanted an attacking right wing back for when we want to use one on that side (Semedo or Mosquera would play behind and tuck in to make the back...
Tbf we did have many of them all out at the same time. Doesn’t happen very often and mainly because we had to flog those 3 or 4 trusted to play. Having 6 trusted first team attackers across 3 positions should be fine plus knowing RAN can play further forward too.
Obviously the new striker needs to be somebody capable of ousting him from the team. But three senior no.9’s for one place is one too many. Especially with Cunha capable of playing there should both be injured at the same time.
