It's been a thing in the game for many years now that managers/coaches don't meet new signings in person before they actually sign. From the introductory videos Vitor at least appears to have spoken to them before they signed. For many managers even that doesn't happen.
I really hope that Dawson's exit is managed such that he leaves feeling well disposed to Wolves and in turn with his head held high in the knowledge that he did a great job for us when it was really needed and that he leaves with the full appreciation and thanks from the fans.
If the Dawson-Coady swap should become a reality, it's a win-win in so many ways.
It's clear Dawson doesn't have much of a role here any more but this would allow him to leave with his head held high, knowing what a great job he did for us last year in particular and to leave with the thanks of...
I watched the game on TV but haven't had the chance to check back for a couple of incidents. Maybe others saw them too.
There was a break in play during the First Half when a fairly lengthy main camera shot was on Vitor with a whiteboard and Cunha. As Vitor was explaining what he wanted...
I was also there at both legs. Still rankles after all these years.
I recall the multiple disappointments.
Couldn't get to any of the previous away games but was at every home game. The excitement - and the anticipation of - beating these foreign teams with their exotic names and reputations...
It sounded to me that he had slightly misunderstood the question (will he be available to play?) and thought that he was being asked about Cunha's fitness and that's why he didn't commit to any particular answer - The first part of his answer he seemed to not be wanting to get involved in a...
Fair point. I think that's a very reasonable assessment. Without having watched it again I don't think Dohert'ys interview really differs too much from that either.
With reference to a different post, I still can't locate any actual evidence of players giving any hint at all of GON being a...
I've just listened back to this interview and I didn't see at any point where he's pointing to things being relaxed at Compton.
What he does say (which is good to hear) is that there are no cliques within the squad and that there is 'no separation'
Have you got any links please to players talking about GON being their mate and drinking buddy. I'm interested in seeing which players it is that have said this.
I think Todibo did a brilliant job with Mario, staying with him, talking to him, keeping him as calm as possible, trying to usher him away from everyone else, and by doing so sending a message to the other West Ham players to keep out of things.
I haven't watched it back but when Sky showed a...
