**ANNOUNCEMENT - CHANGES TO TWF - PLEASE READ!**

Hi all,

A heads up for you all - we are going to migrate to a better, neater database which will improve performance as well as improved aesthetics. There are a variety of reasons for this - we're aware of the issues with cookies but also, we've been on vBulletin since we started way back in 2009 so it's time for a new, updated look. So we're going to go with Xenforo who host a wide variety of fora.

We are looking at a provisional migration date of week commencing October 12th (we will update with a firm date as and when we know) so there will be some downtime whilst this work is carried out. We thank you in advance for your patience!

The admin team have also been discussing the moderation of TWF and have agreed that this will be a good time for a fresh start in the way TWF is moderated. We would like to thank all our moderators over the past 11 years who have spent a lot of their free time working to make this forum the place it is - it's not an easy job, but it is a thankless one! When we return on the Xenforo platform, we would like a new, smaller moderating team made up of 4 full time mods. We will set up a separate thread on the admin sub forum where we will welcome nominees and outline how we want this place to run - the admin team (who I'm afraid you're stuck with) will ultimately choose the final 4.

Good news, the forum has become unusable recently - the temporary work around of deleting cookies is only a very short term fix on the devices I use so this will be a welcome change.

Can I also just say thank you to the Admin team who have the same thankless job as the moderators, but also allow us to use the forum ad free and without shit clogging up the page and that isn't for free - so cheers!

Yes I remember regularly seeing those fishermen on The Deadliest Catch in gales on the Bering Sea thankful that, they at least, weren't admins on a football forum
