Arsenal fell away early last season, they haven't this season. They've pushed City until the final day and they've had to win every game. Its quite obviously a race, you just don't like the outcome of the race
City’s dynasty could easily collapse when Pep leaves. Probably not to the degree of Chelsea or United, but City aren’t winning the league on money alone.
Someone winning the league by 1 or 2 points doesn’t constitute ‘not a title race’ no matter how many times you say it. They’re an incredible team but if Arsenal hadn’t slipped up in one game this season (or Trossard plays the obvious pass at the Etihad) they’ve won the league.
The delusion is strong. City won the league weeks ago when Arsenal and Liverpool lost on the same day, everything since has been about getting to the inevitable conclusion. It's dull and bad for English football.
And all cheered on by a guffawing loon who doesn’t at all receive beyond his Sky salary under the table payments to act as propaganda minister for FC Sportswash. While sky and pundits known for a good bit of rabble rousing on other matters (I’m looking at you Neville) are utterly silent on the matter.
Oh for those unpredictable days of Man Utd winning 7 of the first 9 Premier League titles by razor-thin margins.
City have (will have) had to have won 9 on the spin at the end of the season to win the title. Every week since the Villa game, Arsenal have kept the pressure on them to keep winning. Just because both teams weren't dropping points to muck, doesn't make it not a race. Arsenal have pushed City all the way, you can see that from the way the City players celebrate the penalty tonight. Saying different is disingenuous.
Saying there's been no title race this season is utter nonsense
In two of City's title wins they've gone to the final day only needing to beat crap at home and they were 2-1 down to QPR with a minute to go and 2-0 down to Gerrard's Villa with 15 minutes to go.
Now while they should beat West Ham there's no guarantee they will and anyone saying they were sat on their hands during those two games proclaiming "City will win anyway, it's all over" is lying.
The delusion is strong. City won the league weeks ago when Arsenal and Liverpool lost on the same day, everything since has been about getting to the inevitable conclusion. It's dull and bad for English football.
