The Transfer Thread 2023/24 - Everything Not Wolves

@Alan Seems that St Louis are looking to sign Marco Reus.
Of two minds. He's a name people will know but he's 35... And I don't love the way Nasri framed Reus' desire to play in MLS as "well since he can't do it in Germany anymore..." (even if that is the truth of the thing).

St. Louis need the help; they've regressed horribly in attack so far this season.

Bit rich from a guy who's only 1 year older but not managed a full season in a decade and declined sharply well before he hit 30.

He looked like he was running through treacle when he came off the bench the other night

Technically for next year’s thread I suppose, but LAFC have signed Olivier Giroud.

Villa look like they will sign Barkley from Luton

Makes sense for them with Europe and the fact they still need to be careful with PSR (I think anyway unless it’s another fake narrative!)

I think it's a mistake from Barkley. I can see why he wants to move from Luton, but he should go and play for a bottom half side where he'll play every week rather than be a bit part player there
I agree and how much of his uptick in form been because he’s playing regularly.

Barkley.......Very hard to ignore the few years where his form just disappeared . Playing every week helps as others have said , also big fish small pond and all that too .
Still , Villa are not exactly Man City or Liverpool for that matter , he might still play a fair bit with them .

In Villa's case, he might just get the minutes with the added Champions League campaign (do they still go through qualifying rounds?). So down to him, if he thinks he's good enough he'll have opportunities to prove it.

Immediately puts me in mind of the brutish Italian defender of the 90s Pasquale Bruno
