I understand the desire to constantly improve but the English football game has changed so much that very few teams can ever be successful. Fosun, IMO, have realised this and adjusted accordingly. Frankly, it's their business and their call. For us, well, most of us here, it's a large part of our lives, so we're guilty of a little greed.

Most of life is how you view your circumstances and how much control you feel you have. No different here. We're just a bunch of folk who love our football team and want the best for it. Unfortunately, we're not the custodians of it and never will be. We also have to realise we can't forever rely on a wealthy benefactor with no ties to the area. They got us to where we are now and I don't see a plan B. Sometimes you need to be careful about what you wish for.

PS. And there will always be another football game. Out of Darkness Cometh Light.

And this counterview is what bounces around in my mind, but i also feel peed off with the poor management and poor value. There is a real stagnation at the club but this has largely been self-inflicted. Lack of faith in those running the club is a telling factor, a sense of betrayal too, and these factors all affect your thoughts about paying stupid amounts of money to continue to watch them. I will probably renew, though yes if they raise the price I will have to think very hard about it.

Part of me (foolishly) wants us to lose a lot of ST holders so they have to reconsider pricing because we saw v Brighton in the Cup just how much a reinvigorated, more youthful fanbase could step in to replace those faltering fans if the pricing was lower, and to be honest that is needed home and away as the fanbase naturally ages.

I dunno, so many mixed thoughts. Maybe we are in natural decline back to the Chump.
 
I still love football and our club nevertheless I’m very much at peace with fact I’ve walked away from game attendance.
The fact we’re just in a state of PL existence and pricing has done it for me.
I’m aware I’ve probably witnessed as good as it can get with the 18/19 & 19/20 seasons.
A bit of excitement has gone as we’ve not really got any tangible aims I don’t class survival as one or one to get excited about.
 
I really don’t want to renew, the fact I hardly make games at the moment is a factor but I’d be happy to sell it on or let Sydney have it just to keep my seat but I’ve lost all interest. What’s happening with the club just sucks all of the passion out of it and that’s squarely on Fosun. A relationship is give and take and works both ways but they’re taking everything and giving nothing. If you’ve lost interest, fuck off.

Having said that I probably will renew because Cass still loves going and will hate me if I don’t, and Helen insists I should just to keep the seat. Internal pressures clouding my judgement. Haven’t voted yet as I don’t know what I’m doing.
 
Interesting points of view here and I think it boils down to whether the product meets or exceeds expectations. After six years of Prem. football, some of the excitement naturally wanes but this is the nature of sport. It's even more natural when the team you follow stands little chance of winning anything.

I'd be interested in listening to people's thoughts about how expectations can be lifted again and how the club can actually improve the overall experience of being a Wolves fan. It can't all be based on the way the club is managed or owned or even on performances on the pitch surely?

Heck, even fans of Man City become complacent with winning all the time... so how do they cope?

Well it can’t be “paltry” issues like the standard of the facilities or the price of going - so I’d be more interested with you kicking it off TBH. The user experience and the cost of the product are normally seen as quite important in business, but you disagree, so im genuinely interested in what you think could be done?

Easy to dismiss those things when your only investment is a couple of hours in front on the TV

You have absolutely no fucking idea what I do in regard to our club but I will say it is far more than the price of a season ticket. So stick your "investment" advice where the sun don't shine.

Personally, I don't think that the majority of fans careless about the state of the stadium when they are watching a game. I do think they use it as an excuse to have another pop at the ownership.

The destructive nature of the criticism also baffles me. VAR has done more to destroy the football experience than anything Fosun have done.
 
If I don't renew, I don't think I'd ever go again.

I always knew the individual prices were expensive but I didn't really pay attention as a season ticket holder, along with all my mates. But saw people say tickets at home to Sheffield United were like £45 or something.

I couldn't believe that people would pay that for a game on TV on a Sunday. I know I've technically paid £35 or whatever it is per game, but the thought of handing it over every few weeks individually, I'd just never do it. I pay it, and forget about it, which is probably for the best!

With every game accessible on TV some way, I'd be done. The 'big teams' visiting is not really enjoyable, or has lost its edge. The only game I'd probably be gutted at missing is if Albion got promoted, otherwise I really wouldn't care on the basis I could still follow.

I'm another local season ticket holder, and have been for 20 years. So I really want to renew as it's a massive part of my life (insert jokes here).

But they are taking the piss. Every club in the Premier League who raises ticket prices is taking the piss, because they don't need to. To do so when you're on record about not spending yourself is even worse.

One lad from our group is definitely dropping out. Another one or two on the fence. I reckon I will renew but I despise these fuckers running the club.

Understand. I think all of us has had similar thoughts over the years of following our club. Only you and your circumstances can decide how much of your life you want to give to it or have it give to you.

Anyway, seriously, come on, what would ‘good look like’ for you within the realms of the plausible, given that whatever we might think about it we all agree certain parameters exist?
 
This is my first season in years where I haven't stepped foot in Molineux.

I won't be looking to join any queue to return as a STH.
Despite all my grumbles on here that is nowt to do with Jeff, Fosun etc. I can afford to go but my decision is based on the way I feel about football.
Simply fell out of love of watching us play and that is just around the direction I think football has gone.

I had a STH during the Hoddle and Saunders era so can clearly can cope with shite football and having no hope.

Well, ideally, you'd have more lower price points for admission but to do that in an already full to capacity stadium, you have to expand the stadium. As we know, Fosun have put the team ahead of that and invested in the team. American sport is more inclusive for fans and does the whole fan experience better IMO but there again, it doesn't have the football culture we have.

So I'd look to Yankee land a bit more and see what some of their leading sports teams do to embrace their fans. I know there are sports forums that some Prem. teams go to to learn more about sports marketing and stadium management. Pretty sure we do some of those things but our execution is lacking.

Also, in my dealings with corporate Wolves, I'd say they are really limited in the match day experiences they offer. I'd definitely take a look at that with a view to improvement but again, space is limited. One improvement I definitely would make is the museum experience where those who partake have to leave the museum and enter the stadium with everyone else. That experience is unsatisfactory.

As for fans who simply want to turn up, watch the game and go home, I think you need to look at why they behave that way and why you can't get them in the ground earlier or keep them after. I know the stadium restrictions, Police restrictions and H&S come into play but time and time again I'm just bemused by seeing lines of vehicles queue up to leave Mol. after a game when that 30 or 40 mins sitting in a car could lead to a better experience and more revenue for the club.

I'd also take a hard look at a rewards program that wasn't just based on sales in the club shop or ticket sales. Further, embracing folks with free stuff or experiences that cost little would be something else I'd be looking at.

A lot comes down to marketing and relationships. The club does some stuff really well. In other areas it is lacking. That is why I am asking what you would do because it appears no-one from the club asks the question. That in itself is a disconnect.

How's that for starters?
