Welcome to Wolves, Jonny!

Because he is out of contract next season when they wanted him so they needed certainty of his signature now, but they can't cover his wages until Juanfran moves next summer, so a loan helps them out and suits us this season. They have given him a SIX YEAR contract so I don't think they are looking at quick profit.

Don't get why they bought a 24 year old only to loan. Actually I do, its a new tactic from the bigger clubs these days, buy cheap, loan and sell for a profit. Easy money.
We did it with Afobe.

Depends whether we have a 'buy' clause in the loan as with others that we have had on loan.

If not then they see how he performs then take him back if he does well - not our normal route of late, bu can see why they have done that. Does well for us then he will still have been of benefit even if only for 1 season & at limited cost.

Grateful for the explanations, makes quite a bit more sense now - and if we start getting favours in return from them, all the better.

Hope he doesn't get taken out by the curse of replacing Doc.

Silvio and German Phil were both nearly killed by it

RWB I’d have thought. Definitely expecting a LWB to come in now that Baz has moved on. This stuff really isn’t sinking in.

I thought he was a LB, so won't he be replacing Douglas?

He was on the other side to accommodate Mallo at Vigo. Totally versatile regarding sides of the pitch.

I saw a couple of Celta matches last season and you wouldn't have guessed Jonny was right footed. Looked strong with his left. Could be properly ambidextrous.

If he's more an out and out full back rather than a wing back, could he be in to replace Bennett on the right of the 3? I know TimII is keen on Saiss being number one there, but just a thought, height would be a problem I guess, but in the PL not too many sides are going to launch it.

Has Douglas actually moved? Has the club even acknowledged the rumour?

I don't know about that Bob, but he certainly can use both feet.

I did think that Jonny might play either side of Coady if need be. Depends who else we get fir the wing-back roles.

If we get Mina that won't be a starter. Obviously that is IF we get Mina which is a huge huge if.

We won't get Mina.

We'll see. We are the outsider but we have things in our favour. CASH. Plus Mendes. Plus Project. You never know. Still an unlikely one for me. A bit like Moutinho felt last week and Neves did last year.
